Prime Minister Hun Manet to Give Exclusive Bloomberg Interview to Showcase Cambodia on the Global Stage
Phnom Penh, Cambodia — Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet will participate in an exclusive interview with Bloomberg, one of the world’s leading international business and financial news organizations, as part of the Royal Government’s efforts to strengthen Cambodia’s global profile and promote the Kingdom as an attractive investment destination.
The announcement was made by Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), who also confirmed that he will give a special interview to discuss Cambodia’s investment framework and business environment. Bloomberg is scheduled to conduct a live broadcast from Cambodia on 24 July 2026.
Speaking on 9 July 2026 during the opening ceremony of a seminar reviewing the implementation of the Royal Government’s priority reform measures introduced at the 19th Government–Private Sector Forum for the second half of 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol highlighted the significance of Bloomberg’s upcoming coverage.
He revealed that Bloomberg will produce a three-and-a-half-hour live broadcast from Phnom Penh, with the CDC headquarters serving as the primary broadcasting venue. According to Sun Chanthol, Bloomberg reaches an audience of more than 430 million viewers across over 100 countries, providing Cambodia with an exceptional opportunity to showcase its economic progress, investment potential, and business-friendly environment to a global audience.
Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol further announced that Prime Minister Hun Manet will participate in an exclusive interview on 23 July, while he and several senior government ministers will be interviewed on 24 July. The interviews will focus on Cambodia’s investment policies, legal framework, trade environment, and the country’s long-term economic development strategy, with the objective of attracting increased foreign direct investment.
Highlighting Cambodia’s competitive advantages, Sun Chanthol noted that the Kingdom offers one of the region’s most investor-friendly legal frameworks, underpinned by political stability, sound macroeconomic management, and one of the youngest and most dynamic workforces in ASEAN. These strengths, he said, position Cambodia as an increasingly attractive destination for international investors.
Addressing concerns over online scam operations, Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol acknowledged that such activities have adversely affected Cambodia’s international reputation. He reaffirmed that the Royal Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet, remains firmly committed to eradicating online scam networks, emphasizing that these criminal activities provide no benefit to the nation and undermine Cambodia’s efforts to build a safe, transparent, and competitive investment climate.
The upcoming Bloomberg broadcast is expected to provide an important international platform to present Cambodia’s economic achievements, ongoing reforms, and investment opportunities to a worldwide audience, further enhancing the country’s image as a dynamic and emerging investment destination.
