The KNCHR Chairperson, Ms. Claris Ogangah, virtually participated in the AI & Human Rights Summit held at Rhodes House, Oxford, United Kingdom, during the session, “Embedding Human Rights into AI Governance: A National Perspective.”
She underscored the need to place human rights at the heart of artificial intelligence governance, from the design and development of AI systems to their deployment and oversight. The discussions highlighted the need for AI governance to safeguard dignity, equality and non-discrimination, privacy, transparency, accountability and other fundamental rights as AI becomes increasingly embedded in public and private decision-making.
The Commission remains committed to advancing a human rights-based approach to emerging technologies and digital governance, so that innovation serves people, protects rights and leaves no one behind.
