On July 1, 2020, the Chief Justice officially launched the e-filing system. Currently, litigants cannot file cases manually in Nairobi as the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal and the High Court and lower courts quickly transformed to digital. As great as this milestone is for the judiciary, lawyers and most litigants, it, unfortunately, hindered our clients and our beneficiaries- indigent and marginalized persons and the rural folk from accessing justice since they cannot afford smartphones or computers to access the internet; electricity in their homes is a problem let us not even mention internet; most live from hand to mouth thus have to decide whether to buy food for their family or pay for an internet package; Further to this, most of our clients live in rural areas where they cannot access a cybercafé easily. ...
