Last Friday, I had the privilege of attending the Nairobi Legal Awards Womenโs Soirรฉe (5th Edition), a powerful gathering of women who are actively shaping the legal profession.
I was especially honoured to reconnect with Professor Patricia Kameri-Mbote, who was my Dean during my time in law school, a full circle moment that reminded me how foundational mentorship and leadership are in our journeys.
I also had the pleasure of engaging with Senior Counsel Charles Kanjama, the current President of the Law Society of Kenya, and Senior Counsel Beauttah Siganga, Chair of the Nairobi Legal Awards Trust, among other distinguished members of the Bar, in a space that truly reflected excellence, growth, and influence.
The keynote address was delivered by Hon. Lady Justice Njoki Ndung'u, setting the tone for an evening centered on leadership, influence, and the evolving role of women in law.
The theme, Legacy in Motion, came alive through the conversations in the room; honest reflections on leadership, responsibility, and the evolving role of women in law.
We are not just participants in the legal profession; we are actively shaping its future.
And in doing so, we are reminded that legacy is not something we leave behind someday, it is something we build, intentionally, every single day.
