Tokyo Station, located in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, is not often considered as a residential area. 😮 Most people visit Tokyo Station for transportation purposes. 🚉 It is renowned for its classical red brick architecture and is regarded as the "front door" of Tokyo. 🏰 As the central railway station of the capital, it serves as the most important starting point for the Shinkansen network across Japan, as well as the starting point for major lines such as the Tokaido Main Line, Chuo Main Line, and Tohoku Main Line, offering direct connections to all 32 prefectures without transfers. 🚄 The station area covers an area equivalent to 3.6 Tokyo Domes, and it boasts the highest number of platforms in Japan. 📸 Currently, there are three main entrances: Marunouchi, Yaesu, and Nihonbashi. 🚪
The redesigned 10,000 yen banknote scheduled to be issued in 2024 will feature the architecture of the Marunouchi entrance of Tokyo Station on its reverse side. 💴
