Under the 6th Central Pay Commission, Technical Trades (X Group) were granted X Pay of โ‚น1,400, which was revised to โ‚น6,200 under the 7th Central Pay Commission.While this benefit is effectively reflected in the pension of post-01 Jan 2016 retirees, many pre-2016 X Group veterans are not being granted the full pensionary benefit of โ‚น6,200 X Pay under OROP, resulting in a recurring loss in monthly pension and arrears.After identifying this disparity, several affected veterans have approached the Armed Forces Tribunal (AFT) seeking restoration of the rightful X Pay element in their pension.

VLF prepared a detailed legal representation supported by the relevant service documents and requested the concerned pension authorities to verify the service records, correct the rank from Sergeant (SGT) to Junior Warrant Officer (JWO) in all pension records, including the SPARSH database, and issue a Corrigendum PPO wherever necessary. Through persistent follow-up with the authorities, VLF ensured that the correction process was initiated so that the veteran's pension records accurately reflected his rightful rank and all consequential pension benefits could be processed correctly.
