India is a signatory to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) which focuses on the empowerment of Persons with Disabilities since 2007. This means that in order to comply with the UNCRPD, the country needs to remove barriers that hinder persons with disabilities from actively participating in society.

While India is home to over 1.36 billion residents, over 2.2 percent of this population endures some form of severe mental or physical disability. Persons with disabilities are one of the most neglected sections of our nation. Such people have several rights under various Indian laws as well as UN conventions that are followed in India. What are these laws for disabled people in India? Are disabled people included in social activities? Do the disabled have rights in this country? What laws should people with disabilities be aware of?

Join us to discuss more on this at the conversation on 'Disability Laws in India' on 30th July at 10:30 AM IST | Register at https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZwtdOiurT4vH9GdwLA_E2-vBhtUl2oMhN1z

The economy of Bengaluru contributes over 43.65% to the economy of the State of Karnataka, accounting for 98% of the Software Exports of the State. The establishment and success of high technology firms in Bangalore have led to the growth of Information Technology (IT) in India.
Chennai is one of the top 10 cities in India which have the highest literacy rate. This is one of the reasons people want to set up their companies in Chennai. Chennai is also known as the Detroit of India because more than one-third of India's automobile industry is based in Chennai. Recent estimates of the economy of Chennai are around US$78.6-86 billion, making it the fifth most productive metro area of India and the third highest by GDP per capita.

On this economic backdrop, what is the legal landscape of these two super-solid metro cities of India? What are the strengths and opportunities, as well as the challenges faced by the legal professionals in these cities? What does the technology, innovation, and entrepreneurial environment say, and how does it drive the legal world in Bangalore and Chennai? What should the young lawyers and students expect during their placement journeys?

Join us on Saturday, 12th March, at 11:30 AM to hear from distinguished speakers from Bangalore and Chennai, who will be painting the legal canvas of their cities, as well as share some of their candid experiences.
