Celebrating Excellence: VVM’s Govind Ramnath Kare College of Law Annual Prize Distribution 2025-26

Margao, Goa - March 25, 2026: VVM’s Govind Ramnath Kare College of Law celebrated its Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony for the academic year 2025-26 today at the G.D. Auditorium. The event was marked by a resonant call for integrity and a celebration of student merit.

The proceedings opened with an insightful welcome address by Adv. Pritam Morais, First Vice President of Vidya Vikas Mandal, setting a visionary tone for the morning. The Chief Guest, Smt. Sucheta Dessai, SP (Prisons), delivered a powerful keynote, urging students to balance academic success with "professional integrity and strict personal discipline" in their pursuit of justice.

Upon the conclusion of the prize distribution a detailed reading of the student report by General Secretary Mr. Vrushank Gaonkar followed by Officiating Principal Dr. Maria Goretti Simoes presented a comprehensive report on the college’s academic and cultural milestones, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to legal excellence. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Faculty In-charge Ms. Ashmita Naik, followed by a commemorative group photograph of the year’s achievers.

VVM’s Govind Ramnath Kare College of Law, Margao–Goa, through its Students’ Council and Cultural Committee, in association with the Literary Society and the Department of Physical Education and Sports, successfully organized PRATIBHA 2026 – An Intercollegiate Cultural, Literary and Sports Festival on Saturday, 7th March 2026 at the college campus.

The program commenced with the Inaugural Ceremony at the G.D. Auditorium. The trophies for the competitions were formally unveiled, along with glimpses from the previous edition of the festival. The Chief Guest for the inaugural ceremony, Ms. Rati Bhatikar, addressed the gathering and encouraged students to participate with enthusiasm, innovation and a spirit of healthy competition.

The festival was organised around the theme “The Apocalypse: The Last Protocol,” symbolizing resilience, creativity and the spirit of rebuilding through talent and collaboration. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing various colleges, who competed across a diverse range of literary, cultural, creative and sports competitions.
The competitions included Debate, Fashion Show, Group Singing, Dance, Pratibha’s Got Talent, Treasure Hunt, Street Play, Mascot, Reel Making, Sigil Making, Best Out of Waste, and sports challenges such as Strong Man and Strong Woman and the Thunder Strike Challenge.

The festival concluded with a Valedictory Ceremony, graced by Shri Vijay Sardesai as the Chief Guest, who appreciated the efforts of the organizers and participants and highlighted the importance of such events in shaping confident and creative individuals.

At the culmination of the event, Goa University, Taleigao emerged as the overall Winner of PRATIBHA 2026 and was awarded a cash prize of ₹30,000 along with the Winner’s Trophy. Fr. Agnel College, Pilar secured the position of Runner-up and was awarded a cash prize of ₹20,000 along with the Runner-up Trophy.

Kare College of Law, Margao, hosted an awareness programme “Intergenerational Bonding & Cyber Detoxification,” organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (GOI) and CSSC, RRTC Mumbai.The programme was inaugurated by Chief Guest Mr. Deepak Dessai, Director, Directorate of Social Welfare, other dignitaries who graced the event includes Judge Neelima Kankonkar Member secretary, DLSA, Goa Guest of honour, Adv. The Inaugural Session was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Ramrao S. Wagh, Associate Professor, Computer Science & Technology, Goa University, who delivered an insightful address on cyber security, digital responsibility, and the growing need for technological awareness in today’s academic and professional landscape.

Vidya Vikas Mandal’s Govind Ramnath Kare College of Law, Margao–Goa organised the GRK Judiciary Talks on the topics titled “Lawyers and the Legal Profession” and “Youth for a drug free Goa” as a part of 30-day campaign on Drug Abuse – “Drugs: A Menace to Society” on 17th January 2026 in association with the Goa State Legal Services Authority and the District Legal Services Authority, South Goa. The program was graced by hon’ble Justice Shri Amit S. Jamsandekar and Justice Shri Ashish S. Chavan, Judges of the High Court of Bombay at Goa, as the chief guests. Ms. Durga Madkaikar, Member Secretary of Goa State Legal Services Authority, administered the Drug-Free Pledge. As part of the initiative, Drug-Free Campus Certificates were conferred upon all institutions of Vidya Vikas Mandal by the Goa State Legal Services Authority at the hands of the Chief Guests.
