An inspiring lecture on “Legal & Ethical Steps for Start-Ups” was organised at Mugberia Gangadhar Mahavidyalaya, Medinipur, bringing together young minds eager to explore the world of entrepreneurship.

The session was delivered by Biswajit Sarkar, Senior IP Attorney, who highlighted the essential legal and ethical foundations of a successful start-up, with particular emphasis on Intellectual Property Rights, brand protection, legal compliance and responsible entrepreneurship. A large number of students enthusiastically participated and interacted with the speaker, making the session engaging and insightful.

Intellectual Property Rights for Start-ups

Mugberia Gangadhar Mahavidyalaya, Medinipur, West Bengal organised an engaging lecture on “IPR Protection for Start-ups” on 21 August 2026 at the S. N. Bose Auditorium, bringing together a large gathering of students and faculty members.

The session was addressed by Biswajit Sarkar, Advocate – IP Attorney, who highlighted the growing importance of Intellectual Property Rights as a strategic tool for start-ups, innovators and young entrepreneurs. His lecture covered the key dimensions of Patents, Trade Marks, Copyright, Industrial Designs and protection of innovation, with particular emphasis on how effective IP protection can help start-ups safeguard ideas, build brand value, attract investment and compete successfully in the marketplace.

The programme was conducted by Prof. Bidhan Chandra Samanta, while Dr. Swapan Kumar Misra, Principal of Mugberia Gangadhar Mahavidyalaya, presided over the programme.

The enthusiastic participation of a large number of students and faculty members made the session highly interactive and reflected the growing interest among the younger generation in innovation, entrepreneurship and intellectual property protection.
