The cold-blooded killing of little Aksa Hameed, just 13, in Sehpora, Ganderbal has left our hearts bleeding. A young life, full of dreams, ended by cruelty and barbarity. This inhuman act is a dark reminder of how vulnerable our children are. My deepest condolences to her bereaved family. I strongly appeal to the Ganderbal administration to leave no stone unturned in tracing the culprits and ensuring exemplary punishment.
I urge the administration and law enforcement to act with urgency so that justice is not delayed but delivered with the harshest punishment to the perpetrators.

Helping Hands of Valley is a philanthropic trust founded and led by Advocate Aqib Ul Ahad Wani, dedicated to the cause of humanitarian service, legal empowerment, education, healthcare, and social reform across Jammu and Kashmir. It functions on the principle that even a small contribution, when multiplied by the spirit of community, can create a significant and lasting impact. The trust’s motto, “Give a Little, Help a Lot,” reflects its belief in collective responsibility and grassroots action.

The trust emerged from the vision of Advocate Aqib Ul Ahad Wani to combine his professional expertise in law with his commitment to social service, creating a platform where immediate humanitarian relief meets long-term empowerment. It operates with a strong volunteer base that includes lawyers, social workers, students, medical professionals, and concerned citizens, ensuring that help reaches people not only in urban areas but also in the most remote corners of the Valley. Healthcare is another cornerstone of the trust’s activities, with regular free medical camps, blood donation camps, conducted in rural and underserved areas, and collaborations with hospitals and doctors to extend quality healthcare to those who cannot afford it.

As a legal professional, Advocate Aqib Ul Ahad Wani ensures that the trust also serves as a strong platform for free legal aid. Victims of domestic violence, wrongful detention, labor exploitation, and other injustices are provided with legal representation and counseling. The trust also organizes awareness programs on constitutional rights, women’s rights, tribal entitlements, and social welfare schemes, enabling people to know and claim their legal protections.

Helping Hands of Valley actively engages in social reform initiatives aimed at eradicating harmful practices such as dowry, child labor, and drug abuse, while promoting women’s empowerment, gender equality, and the spirit of volunteerism. Its campaigns are designed to not only spread awareness but also inspire action at the community level.

The trust’s emblem — a handshake over the map of Jammu and Kashmir encircled by its name and motto — symbolizes unity, trust, and the inclusive nature of its work. Its operations are guided by values of compassion, justice, transparency, and inclusivity, ensuring that assistance is provided without discrimination of religion, caste, gender, or ethnicity.

Helping Hands of Valley stands as a movement that is both charitable and rights-oriented, providing material relief while addressing the systemic causes of poverty, inequality, and injustice. Through its combined approach of humanitarian aid, legal advocacy, education, healthcare, and social change, the trust continues to serve as a beacon of hope and a bridge between those who can help and those who need it most in the Valley.

*Adv. Aqib Ul Ahad Wani Strongly Condemns Inhuman Treatment of Accused in Jammu’s Bakshi Nagar*
Ganderbal, 24th June:
Chairman Helping Hands of Valley Mr. Adv. Aqib Ul Ahad Wani has strongly condemned the disturbing incident that took place in Bakshi Nagar, Jammu, where an alleged thief was tied, stripped of his shirt, and paraded in public on the bonnet of a police vehicle.
Describing the act as a “shameful instance of mob justice and police inaction,” Adv. Wani said such incidents not only violate basic human rights, but also shake the very foundation of constitutional protections guaranteed to every individual — including the right to life, dignity, and fair trial.
He expressed serious concern over the visible presence of police personnel at the site, who allegedly failed to intervene and instead allowed the mob to humiliate the accused.
“We are not a mob-driven society; we are governed by the rule of law. Such public displays of inhumanity must not be tolerated, especially when witnessed by those sworn to uphold the law,” said Adv. Wani.
He urged: Immediate suspension and inquiry against the police officers present during the incident,Filing of criminal charges against the individuals who illegally restrained and assaulted the accused, Suo-motu cognizance by the State Human Rights Commission and the Hon'ble High Court of J&K and Ladakh, and Widespread awareness initiatives to educate the public about legal procedures and consequences of vigilantism.
Adv. Wani appealed to the media, civil society, and the legal fraternity to collectively raise their voice against such practices that tarnish human dignity and the justice system.
“Justice must be legal, not emotional. Mob action is a crime — not a substitute for courts,” he emphasized.

“There should be no mercy in environmental cases.
A worthy decision But it should be dual action Plant 4 times more trees under supervision of a court officer and care for them until they become self sufficient, and also the cash penalty per tree fell. This should be SOP for all such cases across the nation...
“It will take at least 100 years minimum to again regenerate or recreate the green cover created by 454 trees which were cut without permission,” the Supreme Court said.

Environmental degradation is a serious issue that affects the entire world. Jammu and Kashmir is no exception. According to reports, environmental degradation in Jammu and Kashmir is mostly a result of human activities such as deforestation, vehicular pollution, and industrialization, which has led to environmental pollution and loss of biodiversity. Educating the masses about the importance of protecting the environment is an effective way to restore the ecological balance.
