2. File a police complaint immediately:
Submit a written complaint at the police station and also file the complaint online, if available. Always keep a copy and complaint number for your records.

3. File a Domestic Violence case:
You can seek:

* A residence order
* Protection orders
* Alternative accommodation
* Compensation and other reliefs

Don’t get married just because “log kya kahenge.”
People will always have something to say.

Listen to your heart, not to society.
When you are in trouble, most people are not there to stand with you.

Your life is yours, so the decision about marriage should also be completely yours.
Choose happiness, respect, and peace over social pressure.

Numerous laws have been enacted in the modern era to safeguard consumer rights. One of the most significant legislations was the Consumer Protection Act, 1986, which was later repealed and replaced by the more comprehensive Consumer Protection Act, 2019. The new Act was introduced with clearer objectives, stronger mechanisms, and provisions for speedy redressal of consumer disputes, thereby giving real meaning to the phrase, “Consumer is King.”

The primary objective of this legislation is to protect the rights and interests of consumers by ensuring fair trade practices and providing timely, effective, and accessible remedies against unfair practices, defective goods, and deficient services. The Act also strengthens consumer awareness and establishes efficient consumer dispute redressal commissions for quick justice to consumers across India.
