Tourists heading to Baliโ€™s famous beaches are being warned to take extra care this week, with a heightened risk of tidal flooding along large sections of the islandโ€™s southern coastline.

โš ๏ธ The Bali Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has warned of potentially high tides between 11โ€“17 August, affecting coastal areas including:

๐Ÿ“ Jembrana
๐Ÿ“ Tabanan
๐Ÿ“ Badung
๐Ÿ“ Denpasar
๐Ÿ“ Gianyar
๐Ÿ“ Southern Klungkung

That includes some of Baliโ€™s busiest beach destinations, such as Canggu, Seminyak, Legian, Kuta, Jimbaran and Uluwatu.

๐ŸŒ• BMKG says the increased tidal risk is linked to the perigee Moon, when the Moon is closest to Earth, combined with the New Moon on 13 August. These conditions can contribute to higher-than-normal sea levels.

Beachgoers are being urged not to underestimate the ocean. Sudden tidal surges can push much further up the beach than expected, potentially sweeping away umbrellas, loungers and other belongings โ€” and strong currents can be extremely dangerous.

Keep well back from the shoreline
โ€ข Check tide and wave conditions before swimming or surfing
โ€ข Follow warnings from local beach staff and lifeguards
โ€ข Donโ€™t assume a calm-looking ocean is safe
โ€ข Be particularly careful around rocks, reefs and strong currents
โ€ข Keep children close to you
โ€ข Take extra care when visiting beaches without lifeguards or warning flags

The dry season also brings increased heat and wildfire risks, particularly in inland areas around Mount Batur, Kintamani and parts of Karangasem.

๐ŸŒŠ If youโ€™re planning boat trips to Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan or Nusa Ceningan, make sure you check the latest wind, wave and sea conditions before travelling.

And remember โ€” Baliโ€™s beaches are beautiful, but the ocean can change quickly.

Enjoy Bali, but respect the sea. ๐ŸŒด๐ŸŒŠ

Five Indian mates arrive in Bali with one mission:

โ€œWe are here to enjoy everything Bali has to offerโ€ฆ but we are NOT paying Bali prices.โ€

They walk into a beach club.

Waiter:
โ€œWould you like five drinks?โ€

The group looks horrified.

โ€œFIVE?! Are you trying to bankrupt us?โ€

They order ONE cocktail.

Five men.

One drink.

Five straws.

๐Ÿฅค๐Ÿฅค๐Ÿฅค๐Ÿฅค๐Ÿฅค

The waiter stands there in complete silence as they form a human drinking circle around the glass.

โ€œBro, donโ€™t drink too much. Everyone needs a fair share.โ€

One guy takes a sip.

โ€œThatโ€™s enough. Pass it.โ€

Another takes a sip.

โ€œSmall sip! We paid for this!โ€

Meanwhile, the fifth guy is calculating the cost per millilitre on his phone.

๐Ÿ“ฑ โ€œGuys, weโ€™re currently at 0.00037 cents per sip. Excellent value.โ€

Then comes the food.

Waiter:
โ€œHow many portions?โ€

โ€œJust one nasi goreng.โ€

โ€œFor five people?โ€

โ€œYes.โ€

โ€œWould you like extra rice?โ€

Five heads immediately shake.

โ€œNO! We are not made of money.โ€

They then proceed to divide the nasi goreng into five portions so accurately that NASA contacts them about a potential space mission.

๐Ÿš 342 grains each.

One grain falls onto the table.

Everyone freezes.

โ€œWHO DROPPED THE RICE?โ€

The guy responsible is immediately placed on financial probation.

Then they see the poolside daybed.

โ€œSir, minimum spend is $100.โ€

The group goes silent.

One whispers:

โ€œLetโ€™s sit on the floor. The floor is free.โ€

Later, they find a happy-hour promotion:

BUY 2, GET 1 FREE.

They spend 45 minutes discussing the mathematics.

Finally:

โ€œExcellent. We only need to buy two.โ€

The waiter smiles.

โ€œTwo drinks?โ€

โ€œNo.

Two groups of five.โ€

๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

By sunset theyโ€™ve visited three beach clubs, eaten at four restaurants, shared one cocktail, negotiated with six taxi drivers and somehow spent less money than they did at the airport duty-free shop.

And when they finally leave Bali:

โ€œAmazing holiday! Bali is very expensive.โ€

Meanwhile, the hotel is still trying to find out who stole the complimentary breakfast bananas.

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฉ

Bali Tourism Board:
โ€œPlease come back.โ€

Their bank accounts:
โ€œAbsolutely not.โ€

Disclaimer: This is a fictional, exaggerated parody about one fictional holiday group and is intended purely as humour. Honestly.๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‚
