Giving Birth in Indonesia as a Foreigner? What Happens Next?
Having a baby in Indonesia as a foreign national involves more than getting a birth certificate. After the birth, parents need to arrange the baby's birth registration, passport, Lapor Lahir, and Indonesian stay permit.
The general process is:
Birth Certificate → Birth Registration → Baby's Passport → Lapor Lahir → Stay Permit
Depending on the parent's immigration status, the baby may be eligible for ITK, ITAS (KITAS), or ITAP (KITAP).
⏰ Don't wait too long to start the process, as immigration deadlines may apply.
