We are pleased that Silk Road Group's USD 400 million Eurobond issuance has been recognized as Deal of the Year at the CEELM Deal of the Year Awards 2025.

BLC Law Office was involved in the transaction as legal counsel to the international investment banks - J.P. Morgan and UBS - in cooperation with Baker McKenzie. The transaction was co-managed by TBC Capital - თიბისი კაპიტალი, Galt & Taggart - გალტ & თაგარტი, and the international investment bank Oppenheimer.

From May 12-14, BLC Law Office partners Lasha Uplisashvili and Giorgi Batlidze, together with our Uzbek colleague Ilhom Bektemirov, participated in the Uzbekistan International Energy
Forum - one of Central Asia’s key energy platforms, bringing together leaders, investors, and decision-makers from the international energy sector.

At the Forum, Lasha Uplisashvili participated as a speaker on the topic “Renewables and Conventional Energy: New Phases of Integration and System Flexibility.” As part of his speech he discussed the legal and regulatory lessons shaping energy transformation and their important role in facilitating cross-border investment.

Participation in the Forum once again highlights BLC’s growing involvement in regional and international energy initiatives.

$70 million investment and a new phase for Georgia’s energy sector

A contract has been signed at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development with the American oil and gas company Aspect Energy LLC. The initiative will make a significant contribution to the development of the country’s energy potential.

As part of this effort, the company plans to conduct 3D seismic surveys in the so-called North Samgori area, marking the first phase of the work.
