After far too many hours of tweaking, changing my mind, rewriting things and staring at the same pages over and over again… my new website is officially LIVE! 🥂✨

Things I’d rather spend money on than a Will…

☕ Far too many coffees
💃 A dress I’ll probably wear twice
🥂 W**e
🐈‍⬛ A rescue kitten
🍫 An unreasonable amount of chocolate
🇫🇷 A day trip to Paris

But sadly, none of those things will:

🍼 tell your family who you want to look after your children
🏡 potentially protect a share of your property from care home fees
🐾 provide for your pets
👫 make sure your assets pass to the right people

Is writing a Will the most exciting way to spend money? Probably not.

But it is one of those things you’ll be very glad you sorted before it's too late.👀✍️

And the peace of mind once it's done? Priceless..

Everyone, meet WOODY!! 🐶✨

If you know me, you’ll know how much I love animals. And Woody is my very best friend.❤️

He’s not just a pet - he’s a huge part of our family (and, of course, the most spoilt member of the household!😂).

So, naturally, I’ve made provision for him in my Will.📜✍

Because if something happened to me, Woody wouldn’t understand where I’d gone. And the thought of him feeling scared, confused or sad breaks my heart.💔

So the least I can do for the dog who has given me nothing but unconditional love and loyalty, is make sure he’ll be properly cared for when I’m no longer here.🐾❤️

I was very lucky to attend a beautiful wedding last week and watch a lovely couple get married.👰‍♀️But it got me thinking....how many people put “sort our Wills out” on their wedding to-do list…?

I know.
You’ve got the dress. 👰🏼‍♀️
The venue. 🥂
The seating plan that has caused 47 family arguments. 😂
The honeymoon booked. ✈️🌴

But there’s one slightly less glamorous thing you should also think about doing…your Will. ✍🏼

If you already have a Will, getting married can affect its validity.
And if you don’t have a Will yet… well, getting married is a pretty good time to get one sorted! 😉

The good news? You don’t have to wait until after the wedding! You can finalise your Wills before you get married and, with the right drafting, they can remain valid once you’ve said “I do”.❤️

So that’s one less thing to worry about before the big day!

Get it ticked off the list now, so you can concentrate on the more important things...like enjoying the celebrations and making the most of your honeymoon.🍾✈️

Martin Lewis is absolutely right. ✅

So many people think that making a Will is enough. It isn't.

A Will only takes effect after you've died. But what happens if you're still alive and suddenly can't make decisions for yourself? 🤔

Without a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA), your loved ones cannot automatically deal with your finances or make important decisions about your health and welfare. Instead, they may have to apply to the Court of Protection in order to help (which is an expensive, time-consuming and incredibly stressful process). ❤️‍🩹

Martin Lewis has recently highlighted just how important LPAs are, and I couldn't agree more. They're one of the most valuable legal documents you can put in place to protect yourself and the people you love. Sadly a lot of people put off setting up their LPAs because they assume there's plenty of time. The reality is that illness or accidents can happen at any age.👈

With Harry and Meghan reportedly returning to the UK, everyone seems to be asking why they're coming back.

Me? I'm wondering something completely different...

Will they be reviewing their Wills? 🤔

Relationships change. Families grow. People move abroad, return home, marry, divorce, and welcome children. When life changes, your Will should too.

A Will isn't something you write once and forget. Reviewing it every few years, or after a major life event, helps ensure your wishes still reflect your circumstances.

If it's been a while since you looked at your Will, now could be the perfect time to dust it off and make sure it still does exactly what you want it to.
