There's no rule saying you have to sit in a solicitor's office to talk about your Will or LPA.

We offer free home visits because we know that sitting down in your own home can make a conversation about something as personal as your family's future feel much more comfortable.

No travelling across town. No worrying about parking. No trying to squeeze an appointment around everything else.

Just a conversation, somewhere you're comfortable.

You can also meet us online or somewhere else that suits you. The important thing is that it works for you.

A lovely family moment for Lisa (and we look forward to all those survival tips filtering down to the rest of the team!)

And yes, we did briefly wonder whether Bear has his Will and LPA sorted... πŸ˜‰

If you own land, or you're part of a farming family, estate planning gets a bit more complicated, and a lot more important.

Succession planning isn't just about a Will. It's about thinking through what happens to a business, a farm or an estate if something happens to you and who might take over next.

We work with business owners and agricultural families across Dorset on exactly this, with hands on experience, to help you figure out what comes next.

Please get in touch for a free, no obligation chat with Matt.

Planning for a child or adult with additional needs is different to standard estate planning, and it deserves to be treated that way.

Questions like who would care for them, how an inheritance could affect their benefits, or what happens when they turn 18 and decisions about their care change hands - these may be challenging things to consider.

Matt works closely with families in this position, often drawing on personal experience as well as legal expertise.

Matt hosts a free bi-weekly webinar covering just this - giving you his expert advice and insight to help you get started.

Our next webinar is on Friday 31st August at 12pm.

Who's on your support team this summer?

With the school holidays here, a lot of grandparents are stepping into extra childcare duty this summer.

If your children are staying with grandparents or other family for a stretch, it's worth checking who's legally able to make decisions on their behalf if needed - from a trip to A&E to signing a permission slip. Not the most exciting summer job, but a useful one.

Most people don't realise a Lasting Power of Attorney isn't just something to think about 'when you're older.' Accidents and illness don't check your date of birth first.

An LPA simply means that if you were ever unable to make decisions for yourself, someone you trust and choose - not the courts - can make them for you. Far easier to arrange now than to need urgently later.

For a simple consultation or to get started, please get in touch.

This Friday, join our FREE webinar, designed specifically to provide support and legal guidance for the parents and carers of disabled and vulnerable people.

Based on his own, deeply personal experience caring for his disabled daughter, Matthew Billingsley will present a sensitive and informal talk on the need-to-know legal protections, reliefs and support available.

This week, our webinar will have a specific focus on Deputyships - what they are, how they can help and the steps involved to set one up.

These regular free sessions always receive great feedback - no slides, no legal jargon, just simple information and a chance to ask any questions to a qualified expert.

'More like dealing with a friend' - this is exactly what we strive for πŸ™

Last night, I fell off my horse. No, really.

I'm fine, thankfully, but it genuinely made me think about how we're all vulnerable to unexpected accidents that we just don't see coming.

What would happen if our partners or family weren't able to make health, welfare or financial decisions on our behalf if we weren't able to do so ourselves? That's where a Lasting Power of Attorney comes in. It's simple to set up and means our trusted person can make decisions, take action and look after us, in the way that we'd choose.

Fortunately, I've just got a few bruises to contend with this time!
