The Sidcup Partners BID The BID is funded by a small ‘levy’ on businesses within the area, based on the rateable value of their property.

The Sidcup Partners BID (Business Improvement District) is a business-led and business funded body formed to support the community and economic growth in Sidcup. In November 2016, the businesses in Sidcup voted in favour of creating a Business Improvement District (BID) and paying an annual contribution to help fund additional projects, services and events that would improve the local environment

for the benefit of the community, businesses, employees and visitors alike. This raises in the region of £167,000 each year during the five-year term, so approximately £835,000 in total. This money will be used to promote Sidcup, to enhance the experience for visitors, to enable businesses to work together and to provide services to reduce business overheads. BID services are additional to those provided by the Council, Police and other providers. The Sidcup BID includes approximately 400 levy payers including well-known brands and organisations in the retail, leisure, hospitality and public sectors. We are an independent, non-profit company limited by guarantee. All the projects and services we deliver are additional to – not in place of – those already provided by the London Borough of Bexley. Our key aim is to raise the profile of Sidcup as a safe, clean, attractive and well-regarded destination for businesses, residents and visitors alike.

We’re delighted to share that The Wright Eyewear Company is celebrating national recognition after Practice Principal and Owner, Kelly Wright, received the Optical Success Academy Excellence Award 2026 at this year’s conference at Liverpool’s Titanic Hotel.

This prestigious award honours outstanding achievement, innovation, and a commitment to excellence within independent optical practice.

As Kelly said:

It was a pleasure to be invited to choose the winner of the Leisure Centre’s Trooping of the Colour colouring competition. The entries were absolutely wonderful — well done to the winner and to everyone who took part.

Sidcup Partners are delighted to share that, because it was so difficult to choose just one winner, the Leisure Centre will be awarding a fantastic hamper to the winner, and Sidcup Partners will be giving every participant a voucher as a thank‑you for your beautifully completed colouring.

We would also like to express a massive thank you to the Leisure Centre for their continued support of the Sidcup Community Larder.
