Working Safely Update 3rd March 2021 - Advanced Maintenance UK Ltd is delighted, to let our customers know that, at the time of writing, 88% of our front line team have received their 1st COVID Vaccination. This is brilliant news, and we would like to thank all of the team for being proactive, ensuring that they have the vaccine as soon as it available.

That being said, the safety of our staff and customers remains our Number 1 priority, therefore we ask that Hands, Face, Space is still observed by all, and we especially ask that a minimum of 2 meter social distancing is provided, when an engineer is at your property.

To keep your boiler in good working condition and limit wear and tear over time, it is important to have your boiler serviced annually, and not just your boiler, many homes have gas fires and cookers which also should be gas checked or serviced where possible.

Additionally, if your boiler is covered by a warranty, it is almost certain that your boiler needs to be serviced annually as part of the terms and conditions of your warranty (Please refer to the manufacturers guide for full information).

Over the Christmas period the Advanced Maintenance UK Ltd offices will be closed for planned works, giving the team a well-deserved break for the incredibly hard work they have put in over the past 12 months.

However please be assured if you have a heating or plumbing emergency, we still offer all our customers a 24-hour, 365 days a year rapid response call out in case of emergencies. This means that you can relax, knowing that should the worst happen, one of our dedicated team will be there quickly to sort everything out so you can be up and running again in the shortest amount of time, with the least amount of disruption.

On 1st June 2020 Advanced Maintenance UK Ltd released our first blog, regarding the changes we have put into place in light of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Advanced Maintenance UK Ltd is proud to sponsor a hole at Calcot Park Golf Club. Calcot Park is an undulating, traditional, parkland course rated in the top six golf clubs in Berkshire and is recognised as one of the best in the area. It was designed by Harry Colt in 1930 who also built, amongst others, Beaconsfield, Denham, Stoke Park, Sunningdale Old, Swinley Forest along with the East and West courses at Wentworth Club in Surrey.

The 18-hole course, Par 70 and SSS 71, is 6,300 yards off the White Tees and is acknowledged as a demanding, yet fair test of golf. There are two practice areas for up to a six iron and a third area for 'some' drivers. There are two par five's, both reachable in two by strong hitters and four excellent par three's, including the 7th, our signature hole, played across a lake to an elevated green. The 13th is played across a stream in a shallow valley to a contoured green.

The course opens and closes with two, long par four's. There are three small practice areas, practice nets and two practice chipping and putting greens. Calcot Park has an abundance of mature trees and shrubs and the area surrounding the course are home to a variety of wildlife including badgers, foxes and deer.

Yesterday Director Mr. Ricky Gale and General Manager Mr. Bryce Bellman took to the Golf course, and we managed to get a picture of them together at the hole we sponsor having a great time out on the course with some of Advanced Maintenance UK Ltd’s suppliers and customers.

Today we would like to write to our customers about the measures we have put into place following the outbreak of COVID-19.

Advanced Maintenance UK Ltd has remained open throughout lock down to ensure that our customers have always had access to a emergency call out service but as the United Kingdom continues to ease out of the COVID-19 lock down, we are slowly re-introducing more of the services we are able to offer.

To prepare for this, the Senior Management Team have been working hard over the past few months getting everything ready for our teams to return as the safety of our staff and customers is paramount. Sourcing masks, gloves and hand sanitiser has been challenging but one the team has risen to (whilst ensuring we only have what we need to allow the NHS and other vital services access to supplies) and our office have been transformed with screens between all desks and 2 meter distances tapes to the floor for ease of reference.

All employees working within the Engineering or Administration Teams have attended our COVID-19 Toolbox Talk before undertaking any work. These were held via Zoom conferencing app wherever possible to ensure social distancing is possible, below is just some of the key points highlighted to all in these meetings;

Site Visits and PPE
- All staff or requested and reminded to follow the safety advice provided by the NHS to prevent the spread.
- All employees must complete a visual safety assessment when they first arrive on site for every job, if they feel it is not possible for the companies safety measures to be put into place, they must remove themselves from the situation, once safe contact the office to discuss how/if to proceed. If the employee cannot work safely, they will be removed from site.
- On any commercial or domestic sites, staff MUST wear a mask and gloves in additional to any normal PPE.
- If any PPE supplies are running low, please ensure that you arrange to collect more before you may run out as site access will not be possible until it has been replenished.
- Social distancing of 2 meters must be maintained at all times, wherever possible.
- When entering or exiting a site, staff must wash their hands with antibacterial soaps and water if possible, however if not antibacterial hand gel to be used instead.
- Once the gloves and/or mask have been used they are to bag bagged up and disposed of safely.
- It is recommended to avoid touching any potentially contaminated surfaces and keeping work areas as clean as possible.
- Clean clothing is to be worn daily.
- It is recommended to remove work clothing on arrival at home.

Accessing Head Office
- All staff or requested and reminded to follow the safety advice provided by the NHS to prevent the spread.
- In line with government advice, it is recommended visits to the office are only carried out where completely necessary.
- To ensure that social distancing is maintained, administration staff are working both at home and in the main office, with all non-key employees will remain working from home for the foreseeable future.
- All working spaces are to be the minimum of 2 meters apart, including the board room and kitchen areas.
- A clear screening has been erected in the main office entrance to ensure safety of visitors and staff located near the door.
- Clear screens have also been erected between any desk areas that are located directly next to each other and by the unit 3 door.
- There is to be no staff working in the central walk though of the main office.
- All staff are asked to only touch what they need to and refrain from touching surfaces in other work spaces.
- Whilst the above steps have been put into place for all, we are very aware that measures required can change customer to customer, with that in mind we would like to ask customers to make us aware of anything further that you may require, the more information we have on arrival the better protection we can offer to everyone.

These safety steps are under constant view will be updated whenever further information becomes available, this may be related to internal policy or Government guidelines.

Last Friday Advanced Maintenance UK Ltd had a fantastic review left on our page, now every review is valued. However, this particular review was from Bev Newman, who in our opinion needs a fantastic review of her very own.

In a time of national crisis, Bev has taken it upon herself to cook and provide meals to the elderly, vulnerable and the very hard-working NHS staff. Her page is full of the amazing meals that she works so hard on (Some are shown below with permission).

However Bev’s hard work comes at a cost and she needs help raising the funds required, to continue to make these amazing meals. Bev is a friend of AMUK, so when we heard she needed our support, Director Ricky Gale and the company were more than happy to help (Hence the brilliant review).

However, we want to do more to help if possible, so with Bev’s permission we wanted to share her wonderful work on our page to see if we can help keep the funds coming in, so this vital service can continue.

COVID-19 AMUK Business Continuity | Advanced Maintenance UK Ltd

As the Coronavirus is now having an increasing impact across Europe, everyone needs to do their bit to help slow down the spread of COVID-19. Please be assured that Advanced Maintenance UK Ltd is in regular contact with our Health & Safety advisors, for all the latest guidance to ensure the safety of our customers and employees, in addition, we have in place a business continuity plan to ensure that the company operates to the highest possible capacity at all times within the guidelines changing from the UK Government.

At present (18.03.2020) the company is doing all we can to operate as normal, however, we are following the guidelines as instructed to us, and as a result, we are experiencing staffing level restrictions. With this in mind, we are addressing all jobs and assessing them based on their urgency. We will be sure to get in touch as soon as we have an update for you.
Additionally, since 16th March 2020, we put some additional steps in place to ensure the safety of our customers and staff.

When booking an appointment you may be asked to confirm the following;
1. Have you / a member of your household recently returned from a country where there is a high incidence of the Coronavirus (COVID-19)?
2. If you have visiting friends/family members have they recently returned from a country where there is a high incidence of the Coronavirus (COVID-19)?

If the answer is NO to questions 1-3 then the booking can be made as normal, however, if the answer is yes we need to ask the following additional questions;
3. Have you / a family member been advised to self-isolate?
4. Have you / a family member been tested for Coronavirus (COVID-19)?
5. If yes to any of the above, do they have the results?

If the answer is YES to questions 4-5, it will be referred to Senior Management and one of our team will call you back as soon as possible with the next steps.
