What could your pension actually mean as retirement income? 👀

Using a simple 4% annual withdrawal for illustration:

💷 £100k → £4,000/year → ~£333/month
💷 £250k → £10,000/year → ~£833/month
💷 £500k → £20,000/year → ~£1,667/month
💷 £1m → £40,000/year → ~£3,333/month

The difference in pension pot size can completely change what retirement looks like.

Want £500,000 in your pension by 60? 👀

If you already had £100,000 invested, the amount you’d need to contribute each month can look VERY different depending on when you start.

Age 30 → ~£83/month
Age 40 → ~£578/month
Age 50 → ~£2,184/month
Age 55 → ~£5,500/month

Time can make a massive difference when it comes to building your pension.

What could a £100,000 pension become by age 60? 👀

Time can make a huge difference.

Using an illustrative 5% annual growth rate, £100k could potentially grow to:

Age 40 → £265k
Age 45 → £208k
Age 50 → £163k
Age 55 → £128k

And that’s without contributing another penny.

But what if the goal was £500,000 by 60?

Next I’ll break down how much you’d need to contribute each month, depending on your age, to potentially turn that £100k into £500k.

Is £200,000 enough to retire? 🤔

It’s one of those questions where the answer really is: it depends.

When you want to retire, what you want retirement to look like, your State Pension entitlement and any other income or savings can completely change the answer.

£200k might be enough for one person and nowhere near enough for another.

The important bit is understanding what your numbers actually look like before you get there.
