Kat's Wills and Estate Planning

Kat's Wills and Estate Planning Will writer and Estate Planner living in Newcastle upon Tyne. Hi all. I am a 42 year old Will Writer and Estate Planner living in the Newcastle-upon-Tyne area.

I graduated from Northumbria University in 2015 with a 2:1 in the MLaw Exempting degree. This is a Masters Level degree in Law. Due to personal health and family commitments I have not been able to go on to practice law on a full time basis as originally planned when I started the degree in 2011. I have given my professional career a lot of thought over the last year and after completing further C

ontinuing Professional Development courses in Will Writing and Estate Planning I have started my own business. The reason I have settled on Will Writing and Estate Planning is because I am aware this topic can be scary and daunting for many people to deal with and understand. I want to be able to be able to offer a friendly, informative and affordable service to all of my customers. My aim is to explain everything in plain English without the use of jargon commonly used in Estate Planning to ensure customers can understand what is going on and to reassure them that it is not as scary and daunting as they initially believed.

Having a will in place is one of the most important steps a person can take to protect their loved ones and ensure their wishes are respected. Without a legally valid will, decisions about your estate—everything from property and finances to personal possessions—are left to intestacy laws. This can lead to outcomes that don’t reflect your intentions, unnecessary stress for your family, and potentially lengthy legal processes during an already difficult time.

A will gives you control. It allows you to clearly outline who should inherit your assets, appoint guardians for children, and name executors you trust to manage your estate. It can also help minimise disputes among family members by removing uncertainty and providing clear guidance. Beyond that, a well-prepared will can support tax efficiency and ensure your estate is handled as smoothly as possible.

Kat’s Wills and Estate Planning specialises in making this process straightforward, approachable, and tailored to each client’s needs. They understand that thinking about end-of-life planning can feel overwhelming, so they focus on providing clear advice in plain language, without unnecessary complexity. Their services are designed to give clients confidence and peace of mind, knowing everything is in order.

For customers, this means expert guidance on drafting a legally sound will that reflects their personal circumstances. Whether someone has a simple estate or more complex requirements involving multiple assets, business interests, or blended families, Kat’s Wills and Estate Planning ensures nothing is overlooked. They also help clients consider important aspects such as inheritance tax planning, lasting powers of attorney, and future care considerations.

What sets them apart is their personalised approach. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all solutions, they take the time to understand each client’s situation, priorities, and concerns. This allows them to create plans that are both practical and meaningful. They also provide ongoing support, so if circumstances change—such as marriage, children, or new assets—clients can update their arrangements with ease.

Ultimately, having a will is about protecting the people and things that matter most. With the support of Kat’s Wills and Estate Planning, customers can feel reassured that their wishes will be honoured, their loved ones will be supported, and their legacy will be handled with care.

Do Not Forget About Your Children

Ensuring your children's well-being is one of the most important responsibilities you have. Naming a guardian in your will is a crucial step to make sure they're taken care of if anything happens to you. Surprisingly, 60% of adults in England haven't written a will, leaving their children's future uncertain. Without a will, the courts decide who will look after your kids, and this might not align with your wishes or values. Such situations can change family dynamics and often lead to stress, as seen in media stories about families caught off guard. In today's world, where legacy matters more than ever, it's wise to appoint a guardian to ensure your children grow up in a loving and stable environment. As times change, let's plan ahead, crafting wills that fulfill our wishes and protect our children's futures.

At Kat's Wills and Estate Planning, we are dedicated to making the process of creating and managing your estate straightforward and affordable for everyone. Understanding that estate planning can often be overwhelming, our team is committed to providing clear guidance and personalized support every step of the way.

With 20% off all advised wills at the minute it means you can get a fully advised will from £160 for a single or from £240.00 for a mirrored couple will.
