🎓 ADVICE I WISH I'D BEEN GIVEN WHEN I STARTED MY APPRENTICESHIP.
Now that I've completed my apprenticeship, I've been thinking about what I'd tell myself if I could go back to day one.
Probably this:
👉 Don't worry about knowing everything. You're there to learn.
👉 Keep notes of your experiences. You'll need those examples later!
👉 Learn to explain what you did, why you did it and what you learned.
👉 Ask for help before you're completely stuck.
👉 Don't wait until the end to start thinking about your final assessment.
👉 Stop comparing your journey with somebody else's.
👉 And don't be afraid of feedback.
I learned that last one personally.
Part of my final assessment didn't go the way I'd hoped. I had to go back, look carefully at the feedback and prepare differently.
Then I tried again.
I passed.
Looking back, I'm actually grateful for what that experience taught me.
The journey doesn't have to be perfect to be successful.
So if you're currently doing an apprenticeship, keep learning, keep asking and keep going.
One day you'll be looking back too. ❤️
What advice do YOU wish somebody had given you when you started?
