Injured on a cruise ship or ferry? 🛳️

Claims at sea are often governed by different rules than accidents on land.

In this video, our travel litigation solicitor Hannah explains how cruise and ferry accident claims are typically brought against the carrier and why important time limits can apply. In most cases, claims must be brought within two years of disembarkation.

Crashes on private land can affect drivers, passengers, pedestrians and cyclists, and can raise questions about whether the usual road traffic rules still apply.

The legal position depends on where the crash happened and who was responsible. Some privately owned car parks may still be treated as public places because the public has access to them, while crashes on private land can be treated differently.

Depending on the circumstances, responsibility could rest with the driver, the landowner or another party. The Motor Insurers’ Bureau generally does not cover crashes on private land that occurred on or after 28 June 2022, but another route to compensation may still be available.

Whether you were driving, cycling, walking or travelling as a passenger, it is worth seeking legal advice before assuming the location rules out a claim.

The County Durham and Darlington Breast Cancer Service review has left many women asking the same difficult question: could this relate to me?

There may not be one simple answer, but concerns have included delays in diagnosis, delays in treatment and unnecessary surgery.

If your experience involved unanswered questions, unexpected decisions about treatment, a delay that never felt properly explained, or concerns about whether your care was handled correctly, it may be worth seeking advice.

You do not need to be certain before speaking to someone.

Sometimes, the first step is simply being listened to.

How do you know when a relationship is no longer working?

The reality is that relationships rarely end because of a single conversation, disagreement or difficult period. More often, people begin to wonder whether they're holding on to what the relationship once was rather than what it has become.

When trust, connection, shared goals or the willingness to work through challenges have diminished over time, it can prompt difficult questions about whether the relationship is meeting the needs of those within it.

While there is no universal moment that tells you it's over, taking an honest look at your circumstances can help you understand whether the relationship can move forward or whether it may be time to consider a different future.

London's first self-driving taxis are now available to hire through Uber, marking a major step forward for autonomous vehicle technology in the UK.

For now, all 15 licensed vehicles have a safety driver onboard, ready to take control if needed. However, as the industry moves towards fully autonomous travel, important questions remain around accountability and liability.

Who is responsible when there is no obvious human error?

In our latest expert opinion, Senior Personal Injury Lawyer Bob Miller shares his thoughts on the legal challenges ahead and why regulation must evolve alongside the technology.

Injured on a package holiday? ☀️✈️

One of the biggest misconceptions we hear is that you have to navigate a foreign legal system on your own.

In this video, Hannah from our Travel Litigation team explains why package holiday claims are often brought against the UK tour operator and handled here in the UK.

She breaks down what information can help support a claim, who may be responsible, and why package holiday protections exist in the first place. However, the best way to understand your options is to speak to an expert.

A pothole might be annoying in a car, but on a bike or motorbike it can be dangerous.

They are hard to spot until you are close, and on two wheels there is not much room to recover. Even a driver swerving around one can create risk for someone else on the road.

Our survey found that 65% of people said poor road conditions made them feel unsafe, and half had changed the way they drive because of them.

That says a lot. Potholes are not just a repair issue. They affect how safe people feel, how they drive and how much risk they face on everyday roads.

Filling a pothole may keep the road usable for now, but safer roads need safer surfaces too.

If your breast cancer care through County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust happened before 2023, you may be wondering whether your concerns still matter.

They do.

The date of your care should not stop you from seeking advice if you believe something may have gone wrong, or if you have unanswered questions about diagnosis, treatment, surgery or follow-up care.

For some women, concerns only become clearer with time. For others, recent information about the breast cancer service review may have raised new questions about what happened to them.

If you’re unsure, a confidential conversation can help you understand whether your experience should be looked at more closely.

Injured at your hotel while on holiday?

Many people assume they would need to claim against the hotel itself, but that's not always the case.

In this video, our travel litigation solicitor Hannah explains that if you've booked a package holiday, a claim can often be photos pursued against the UK tour operator instead.
