We are delighted to announce that the Senior President of Tribunals, Lord Justice Dingemans, has appointed Michael Field as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber). The appointment took effect from 3 August 2026.

Michael will undertake his judicial duties on a part-time basis whilst continuing his busy full-time practice with the firm.

Last month, in honour of South Asian Heritage Month, the team at Freemans came together to celebrate the rich contributions of the South Asian community.

We’re thrilled to announce that Joint Head of the Family Department, Nina Hansen, Head of Matrimonial, Mark Kosmin and Partner, Georgina Stavrou have all been ranked as Recommended Family Lawyers in the 2026 edition of Spear’s 500.

For many people in the UK, Pride Month is a time to celebrate identity, community and progress. Rainbow flags appear across towns and cities, and people come together to recognise how far LGBTQ+ rights have come.

But for many around the world, Pride looks very different.

In some countries, being openly LGBTQ+ can still lead to discrimination, violence, imprisonment or persecution. Many people live in fear of being rejected by their families, targeted by their communities or punished by the authorities simply because of who they are.

Countries such as Afghanistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines continue to present significant challenges for LGBTQ+ individuals. For some, the risk becomes so serious that leaving their home country is the only way to feel safe.

At Freemans Law LLP, we understand that behind every asylum claim is a person with a story. Many individuals seeking protection in the UK have spent years hiding their identity, living in fear, or facing treatment that no one should have to endure.

Members of Freemans Solicitors spent last Tuesday afternoon in the 22nd London Legal Walk, joining thousands of legal professionals and supporters for one of the legal sector's biggest annual fundraising events.

With beautiful weather and a unified atmosphere throughout the walk, it was wonderful to see so many people come together in support of an important cause. This year we saw 19,500 legal walkers in which more than £900,000 was raised for over 100 free legal advice charities. The funds raised help these organisations continue their valuable work supporting people and communities across London.

A huge thank you to London Legal Support Trust for organising this outstanding event, and well done to everyone who walked, volunteered, and donated. It was very delightful to be involved and we are proud to support such a worthwhile initiative.
