Three weeks ago were delighted to welcome Adam Ramlugon into the partnership at Hannaford Turner LLP and into the Superyacht and Luxury Asset Department.
Adam has some ten years experience (seven as a Partner) in superyacht and other luxury asset work.
He is widely acknowledged as a leader in these fields and is regularly instructed by UHNWI's, family offices and other industry participants for the depth and breadth of his expertise. He is ranked in the Chambers High Net Worth Guide and has been consecutively since 2017. As a result he is often sought out for comment by various media outlets including The New York Times and The Superyacht Group.
His practice covers both contentious and non-contentious work (with a particular focus on superyacht and private aviation related matters). His non-contentious practice covers all manner of transactional and advisory work, from new build yacht construction projects (from 30m to 140m+), sale and purchase, asset finance, insurance, regulatory and tax work (particularly VAT). Other areas of expertise include how wider tax and economic policy changes (such as the impact of the OECD's economic substance rules) can impact upon the use and enjoyment of luxury assets.
On the contentious side, Adam has handled a wide range of disputes (usually dealt with by way of arbitration) including numerous high value yacht construction and charter matters along with a range of other commercial disputes particularly that are focussed on the proper construction of the underlying contract.
Clients praise his "brilliant strategic mind" and praise his ability to "calm things down and dissect a situation".
