Spending time with those you love is so important. In my case that involved spending a wonderful day with my 97-year-old mother, making her delicious apple cake.

Days like today remind me of what spirituality really means.

It's easy to think of spirituality as meditation, healing, angels, energy or personal growth. And all of those things have their place.

But spirituality is also found in the simple moments.

Sharing stories.
Having a laugh together.
Listening.
Being present with someone you love.

There comes a point where you realise that life isn't really about how much you've achieved or how busy you've been. It's about the moments that touch your heart and stay with you.

And as I go through life the more I appreciate that.

We never know how many opportunities we'll have to spend time with the people we love. Every conversation, every shared experience, every ordinary day becomes something precious.

Today was one of those days.

And I am very grateful for it. ###

How to ground. Are you feeling a little crazy with this full moon energy?

Full moons are very intense, not just on the day, but for a few days before and after. If you are still feeling ungrounded after yesterday’s full moon here are some suggestions on how to reconnect with your body and feel more present. ###

• hug a tree – leaning your back against a tree is really grounding
• walk barefoot on grass
• make sure you are fully hydrated, so lots of water. (It affects the kidneys and base chakra)
• use a grounding crystal such as an obsidian or tourmaline
• breathing into your feet. Really push your breath down into the ground
• stand in cold water! It has a way of taking energy into your feet which pulls you in

There are many ways to ground but these are my favourites.
If you still find yourself ungrounded afterwards I can help you. ###

As healers we do our work and sometimes we never hear from clients again. Off they go to live their lives. But when we do receive a review it means so much. It’s a sign that we are doing something helpful and also it’s a blessing to know that someone is shining bright.

Such words always bring tears to my eyes as my heart sometimes struggles to believe I helped someone.

We have our second full moon of May coming up and it felt like a perfect time to draw three cards from the wonderful Lunar Tarot.
These are their messages

Four of Wands – life can become too heavy, too serious, too much drudgery. This card says we need to bring more joy, celebration into our lives. It’s not about spending huge amounts of money. Joy is free. Joy is available in every moment if we choose to embrace it. As we begin to change our inner energy and mindset we will find that joy comes to us as we attract it through our joyful vibration. Joy is also an energy without force and this fits beautifully with the energy of this full moon. sew what you dream of.

Nine of Swords – It is so easy for the negative thoughts that we carry to take over. These useless thoughts run round and round our head paralysing us. Caught in the headlights we stand still and fear grows even more. When fear becomes the driving force we have find a way out, a place to step off. There is no perfect moment to do this – just step off and focus on something else, anything to break this cycle. There is always beauty in life to look at and indulge in.

King of Cups – This card tells us that if we can move forward with the flow of life through acceptance and release then we will reach a state of peace, calm and balance. But we cannot grasp this, nor force it. It all comes through flow, through working with the energies. Balance is lost when we try to push through or try to decide precisely how things should be. Flow with everything and you will reap the rewards.
