For all of you who have been thinking: "What is Kesar & Co doing about the radon claim against the Ministry of Justice?", we have a little update.
The number of claimants is approaching 500 and we are no longer representing just former prisoners and their families. Our team has also been approached by some who just worked in HMP Dartmoor.
We have issued a number of individual claims and are in the process of issuing many others.
The proceedings will have to be paused owing to the ongoing, nine-month delay at the Legal Aid Agency.
HSE is still investigating this incident.
In the meantime, we have been advised that some former Dartmoor prisoners died of cancer. Others have been diagnosed with various conditions, including cancers, which might have a radon link.
We have instructed top experts to examine the disclosed records of our clients. The experts are excited and told is that they could not get such evidence anywhere in the world because it is against the law to expose humans to such high levels of radiation.
We are preparing to instruct more experts and one of the most prominent barristers. We just need a little wink and a nod from the LAA.
We will soon have more news to share and if you are interested in this unique and important case, keep an eye on our posts...
