A big thank you to everyone who joined us at St Mary’s Church yesterday for the Together for Tomorrow event.

It was a lovely afternoon, and we’re grateful to all who came along, whether to hear the talks or simply to connect with others in the community.

Thank you to Reverend Nick and The Bramham Benefice for the invitation to present and for making everyone feel so welcome.

The afternoon featured some excellent contributions from guest speakers: James Watterson from Christian Aid, who spoke about the real-world impact of legacy giving, and Reverend Trish Anslow, who led a thoughtful conversation about bereavement care within our churches.

💙Today at TRUST Networking, we had the honour of welcoming back Steve Phillip from The Jordan Legacy.

We were proud to present Steve with a cheque for £1,000 to support The Legacy of Hope Walk, which took place on 17th May around Harrogate’s beautiful Stray. The walk was a powerful event bringing people together to acknowledge Mental Health Awareness Week, remembering those lost to su***de and to create ripples of hope for those affected.

The Jordan Legacy is a su***de prevention non-profit organisation working tirelessly to reduce su***de deaths and support those affected. The work they do is extraordinary, and we’re so proud to have played a small part in supporting their mission 💚

This is exactly what TRUST Networking is all about - not just supporting each other in business, but giving back to our local community and the causes that truly matter. A huge thank you to all of our members whose membership makes moments like this possible🙏

🧡Yesterday, we were proud to present Yorkshire's Brain Tumour Charity with a cheque for £2,500 - and it was a moment that reminded us exactly why we do what we do.

Earlier this year, Fiona Harris from the charity joined us for our 10-minute presentation slot and gave our members a truly powerful insight into the vital work they carry out every day across Yorkshire - from peer support groups and wellbeing walks to hardship grants for families in desperate need.

The statistics alone stopped us in our tracks. Every week, 15 people across Yorkshire receive the life-changing news that they have a brain tumour. Yet brain tumours receive less than 2% of the annual cancer research spend in the UK. That's why the work Yorkshire's Brain Tumour Charity does matters so much.

💬 Fiona said: “Every week, 15 people across Yorkshire are told they have a brain tumour diagnosis- bringing not only physical challenges, but also emotional and financial difficulties for patients, as well as their friends, families, and loved ones.

"We are incredibly grateful to the caring corporate community and generous businesspeople at TRUST for their donation, which will help improve the lives of anyone impacted by a brain tumour diagnosis across Yorkshire. We’re pleased to be part of Together for Tomorrow - a free community event taking place at St Mary’s Church, Boston Spa on Wednesday 10th June from 1pm.

The afternoon includes a talk from a Christian Aid speaker on the impact of legacy giving, and we’ll be there offering free 45-minute private consultations on wills and estate planning - places are limited, so booking is recommended.

There will also be the chance to speak with the church team about bereavement care and support, plus refreshments and a warm welcome for all.

The event is open to anyone thinking about planning for the future, understanding how legacies work, or looking for support during a difficult time.
