Nicholl HR turns THREE this Friday… so, ask me anything!

I'm going LIVE on Facebook for 30 minutes at 1pm this Friday.

I'll chat a little about the last three years of Nicholl HR - the journey, the lessons and what's next.

Then… ASK ME ANYTHING. 😂

HR, business, the reality of running Nicholl HR, mistakes I've made, things I've learned… or something completely random!

👇 Drop your questions below, send me a private message if you'd rather ask anonymously, or ask me live on Friday.

See you Friday at 1pm! ❤️

We are turning THREE! 🎉

On 14th August, Nicholl HR officially celebrates 3 years in business.

Three years of supporting businesses, solving some very interesting HR problems 😅, growing a team, learning a LOT, and working with more organisations than we ever imagined when I first started.

So, to celebrate 3 years, we're giving away 3 FREE HR Audits to 3 businesses! 🎁

The audit will take a look across the key areas of your HR, including:

📄 Contracts & documentation
🛡️ Policies & procedures
👥 Recruitment & onboarding
📈 Absence & performance
💬 Employee relations
⚖️ Compliance & HR best practice

You'll come away with a clearer picture of what you're doing well, where there may be gaps, and what you should prioritise next.

To enter:

👉 Like this post
👉 Follow the Nicholl HR page
👉 Comment below with your business name (or tag a business you think could benefit!)

Entries close 18th August.

I'll then select 3 businesses to receive a completely FREE HR Audit.

A little thank you for all the support Nicholl HR has received over the last three years. ❤️

3 years. 3 businesses. 3 free HR audits.

Good luck! 🎉

Note: this is running across other platforms, too.

🚨 You pay me. That doesn’t mean I’ll agree with you.

This might be a slightly controversial take for an HR consultant…

But if you work with me, I won’t just go along with what you say because you’re the employer and you’re paying the invoice.

Sometimes I’ll challenge you.

Sometimes I’ll tell you that you’ve handled something badly.

Sometimes I’ll tell you that the employee actually has a point.

And occasionally, I’ll tell you something you really don’t want to hear.

Because my job isn’t to tell employers they’re right.

My job is to give you good, impartial HR advice that protects your business, treats your people fairly and ultimately helps you become a better employer.

That might mean challenging the way you manage someone.

It might mean questioning a decision you’ve already made.

It might even mean saying, “Actually, I don’t think that’s fair.”

Yes, you might face some harsh truths when you work with Nicholl HR.

But you’ll also get someone who is willing to have the difficult conversations with you that others might avoid.

Because sometimes the biggest risk to a business isn’t a difficult employee.

Sometimes, it’s the way the situation is being managed.

And recognising that is where the growth happens.

🌟 Member Spotlight - Lucy Nicholl, Nicholl HR 🌟

This week, we’re putting the spotlight on Lucy from Nicholl HR and finding out a little more about her BNI journey.

1. How did you find out about BNI?
I was introduced to BNI by a friend when I first started my business. They knew it would be a great way to help me build connections, grow my network and ultimately grow the business.

2. What were your initial thoughts after your first meeting?
I was amazed by the amount of business being passed around the room and by how friendly and welcoming everyone was. It was refreshing to attend a networking meeting that felt so structured and productive, with a real purpose behind it.

3. How would you like to see the chapter grow?
I’d love to see more women in business joining the chapter, as well as more professional services represented. There are some fantastic opportunities for businesses in areas such as health and safety, fire safety, legal services and marketing.

4. What is the greatest value you have had from joining BNI?
Without a doubt, the connections. I’ve built relationships with people who are incredibly generous with their knowledge, introductions and support. BNI has helped me grow my network, develop as a business owner and connect with people I may never otherwise have met.

5. Why do you think the BNI structure works so well?
Because everything we do has a purpose. The structure keeps you accountable and encourages you to consistently work on building relationships and growing your business. If you genuinely engage with BNI and follow the process, it can have a huge impact on your business.

6. What has been your best experience in the chapter to date?
One that really stands out was having the room recognise and praise me for the service I provide. In HR, you’re often dealing with confidential or difficult situations, so you don’t always get to hear feedback publicly. Having people in the room speak so positively about my work and the support I provide was a really lovely moment and meant a lot to me.

👏 A brilliant example of what BNI is all about - building relationships, sharing knowledge and supporting each other to grow.
