Subject: Urgent Report on Harassment and Organized Campaign Targeting Yemeni Refugee Representative in Ethiopia
It is no secret what happened to Ms. Aftahan Al-Mashhary, whose brutal murder in Taiz Governorate shocked the conscience of the world and exposed the presence of organized criminal groups preying on vulnerable individuals.
Today, a new and alarming situation is unfolding.
A similar network of individuals has launched an organized campaign targeting Ms. Sahar, the official representative of Yemeni refugees in Ethiopia.
This individual, whose identity is known and documented, has created and managed a WhatsApp group used to:
Incite hatred and hostility against Ms. Sahar.
Spread false information and slander.
Encourage division and conflict among Yemeni refugees.
We, the undersigned Yemeni refugees in Ethiopia, strongly condemn this malicious campaign and hold the person responsible fully accountable for any harm, threat, or damage that may result from his actions.
This type of organized harassment directly undermines humanitarian efforts and endangers the life and dignity of a woman who has dedicated herself to helping her fellow refugees.
We refuse to remain silent, as silence is what allowed similar tragedies to happen before — such as the one that took the life of Ms. Aftahan.

Our Demands and Appeals:
1. Immediate protection measures for Ms. Sahar, including legal and security support.
2. A formal investigation into the individuals and networks involved in these incitement campaigns.
3. Stronger monitoring and accountability mechanisms to prevent harassment of refugee representatives and community leaders.
4. Public condemnation of such actions by humanitarian and refugee organizations in Ethiopia.
