Everyone celebrates the job offer. Almost nobody tells you this part: not every offer automatically qualifies you to switch permits. 😬

For the contract to meet the requirements, you need to check:
📄 A signed contract that guarantees continuous employment during the authorization period.
💼 Legal working conditions — the terms of the contract must comply with current labor regulations.
💰 The salary — if the contract is part-time, the annual pay must be at least the minimum wage required for a full-time position.
🏢 The employer — they must be registered with Social Security, up to date with their tax and Social Security obligations, and have sufficient resources to meet the contract.
🎓 Your qualifications — you must have the legally required training or professional qualifications for the position, when applicable.

And there’s another important point: your job offer isn’t the only thing Extranjería looks at. The situation of the Spanish labor market can also affect the application.

Honestly, this is one of the assumptions we correct the most in DMs: not every immigration procedure requires you to be registered on the padrón.

Yet many people delay their applications because they assume they need to get a padrón first — sometimes when it isn’t actually required for their specific procedure.

The padrón can be important in certain cases, but whether you need it depends on the procedure and your particular situation.

Before delaying your immigration process just because you don’t have a padrón, check whether you actually need one.

Choosing the wrong health insurance is one of the most common (and most frustrating) reasons immigration files get delayed in Spain.

To qualify, your policy needs:
✅ Full coverage — no exceptions
It needs to cover hospitalization, primary care, and emergencies. Partial or 'basic' plans don't meet the requirement.

✅ Zero copays
Every visit or treatment must be 100% covered — no out-of-pocket payments per service.

✅ Zero waiting periods
Coverage must be active from day one. Policies with a 'carencia' period (where certain treatments aren't covered for the first weeks/months) don't qualify.

✅ Valid for immigration purposes
This is key: a travel insurance policy is NOT the same as one accepted by Extranjería. It must be specifically designed to meet Spanish immigration requirements."
