Ibrachy & Dermarkar is pleased to announce the successful representation of its client in a high-value administered by The Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA), arising from relating to the organisation of an international live entertainment event in Egypt.
The dispute involved complex issues of contractual interpretation, arbitral jurisdiction, and the enforceability of arbitration agreements within an integrated contractual framework.
The Tribunal subsequently rendered an award in favour of our client.
Following the issuance of the award, the respondent initiated annulment proceedings before the Cairo Court of Appeal seeking to set aside the award.
Our team
successfully defended the award, with the Court dismissing the annulment lawsuit in its entirety and upholding both the validity of the arbitration agreement and the Tribunal's jurisdiction.
The matter was led by Mr. Ahmed Alsaid, Partner, together with Abdel Raouf Shams, Senior Associate, and Yousra Elmahdy, Associate.
