Ein Film über ASZ-Aktivist Amine, der währen der Corona-Pandemie das Projekt «Essen für alle» ins Leben gerufen hat. Wir freuen uns, zusammen mit Amine den Film zu schauen.

Film: Mit fünfzehn Jahren flüchtet Amine Diare Conde aus Guinea nach Europa. Als Asylbewerber muss sich Amine selbst am Existenzminimum durchschlagen. Dabei hilft er aber unermüdlich Menschen, die noch weniger haben als er. Schon eine Woche nach dem Corona-Lockdown hat er die Aktion «Essen für alle» gestartet. An der Autonomen Schule in Zürich verteilt er Woche für Woche 2000 Essenstaschen und hat dafür über 200'000 Franken an Spenden gesammelt. Gleichzeitig kämpft er selbst für sein eigenes Bleiberecht. Sein ehrenamtliches Engagement macht den 22-Jährigen zum «bekanntesten Asylbewerber der Schweiz».

Summer is well and truly back on Lesvos; Moria, surrounding areas and makeshift camps are bursting at the seams, with some zones over capacity by upwards of 300%.
Like most of the island’s services, at Bashira we have had to suspend all new registrations as we struggle to cope with the rapidly inflated population in addition to our longstanding regulars who come every day to the Centre.
In spite of the challenges, we are always trying to find innovative and inclusive ways of improving our offerings.

This week we held our first Bashira Assembly in a local theatre.
This coming together of over 50 women allowed us to discuss the values and objectives of the SAO projects and brainstorm ideas about how to tackle the obstacles we face.
We also used the time to celebrate the achievements of the women who attend the Centre.
Their creativity, talent, quick wit, intelligence, resilience and support for one another gives us daily motivation. With thanks to all the women who attended the Assembly, we look forward
to continuing the conversation.

Wegen der Teilnahme an einer Solidaritätskampagne für eine pro-kurdische Zeitung warf die türkische Staatsanwaltschaft dem Journalisten Önderoglu "terroristische Propaganda" vor. Ein türkisches Gericht hat nun ihn und zwei weitere Angeklagte freigesprochen.
