Important Update for International Students

Starting September 1, 2026, IRCC has increased the amount of money international students must demonstrate for living expenses when applying for a study permit.

A single applicant must now show $23,448 for one year of living expenses — in addition to tuition and transportation costs. Higher amounts apply when family members are accompanying the applicant.
