MB is delighted to be a sponsor of the 8th Annual “Golf for Julia” tournament – a full day of fun and philanthropy, held on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at the Sunset Ranch Golf Club in Kelowna. Julia sustained a spinal cord injury at 17 months. Since then, her family has committed themselves to helping Julia achieve her goal to walk again. This requires attending rehabilitation programs tailored to her growth and development designed to keep her strong and progressing in her recovery. Not all of these programs are available in Canada, and while some of the costs are covered, many are not.
The annual golf tournament and silent auction are not just events, they are lifelines for Julia. They raise funds for her ongoing rehabilitation, making a significant impact on her life. All proceeds from the event and auction go directly toward Julia’s specialized therapies in the US as well as custom equipment she needs as she grows. This October, Julia and her Mom will be spending 4 weeks at a very special facility in Louisville Kentucky where she’ll participate in 3 hours of OT/PT daily. Julia will also be playing sled hockey, wheelchair basketball and swimming while in Louisville.
For the past eight years, golfers, sponsors (including MB!), volunteers, friends, and family have come together to raise funds to support Julia’s journey to walk again. The support of the Kelowna community has been instrumental in Julia’s progress, and we are proud to be part of a community that has shown such unwavering support for Julia’s cause.
