On this day, I reflect on the past and the painful struggle that so many Indigenous people have endured on this land, and commit to the future, and what each of us can do to advance reconciliation in our communities, workplaces and our country. Grateful that Torys LLP played an important role, 2 decades ago, in the signing of the Indian Residential Schools Settlement Agreement, which spawned the creation of the TRC. Call to Action #80 sought a National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, which thankfully became law in 2021. Wear your Orange shirt today, but think about the cause of reconciliation every day.
