This morning Jamesy and I picked up the Royal LePage moving van and headed to Plant Gather, one of the donation drop off spots here in Kelowna for our fire evacuees.
Alongside big hearted strangers (strangers no more), we filled that van to the brim. Then it was off to the Mamas for Mamas head office, where we unloaded and got to work organizing donations with so many wonderful people.
Before long we got our next assignment. Fill the van back up and head to Vernon.
We arrived and said “Mamas for Mamas sent us!” They asked what we had for them, and we told them a van filled with food and necessities! They were so grateful.
While we were unloading, a man pulled up with his family and quietly asked for some bottled water. I said to him, surely you need more than just water. He shyly shrugged his shoulders.
Needless to say, we set that family up.
Today I saw firsthand the huge hearts in our community. You show up for each other, and it is a beautiful thing to witness.
