EKOS says 77% of Canadians in its highest disinformation-belief group support the Conservatives. The CPC’s overall vote intention in the same polling is 27%.

That gap is enormous. And it deserves something better than a partisan victory lap.

This does not say every Conservative voter believes misinformation. It says belief in false claims is heavily concentrated among the people currently backing one political party. Conservative leadership should have to answer for how it deals with that environment. Does it correct false claims when they help the party, or let them travel?

There’s one piece I still want before going further. EKOS has released the headline result, but I haven’t seen the full questionnaire and methodology for this specific release yet. I want to know exactly what respondents were asked.

The 77% deserves attention. So does the questionnaire behind it.

A party asking to govern Canada should want its supporters working from the best information available.

Detroit's credit rating is now higher than Chicago's. Moody's rates Detroit A3 and Chicago Baa3, three notches lower, and S&P has Detroit at BBB+ to Chicago's BBB.

The Moody's upgrade put Detroit in the A category for the first time since 1999. It came the same week a federal judge closed the city's bankruptcy case, on May 19.

The city points to 12 consecutive balanced budgets and more than $500 million in reserves.

A person’s true character is not revealed by how they treat those who can benefit them. Anyone can be kind when there is something to gain.

The real test of character appears in the moments when there is no reward, no recognition, and no advantage.

How someone treats a stranger, a person with less power, or someone who cannot offer them anything in return reveals the values they truly carry inside.

Respect should not depend on status. Kindness should not be reserved for important people. Compassion should not be given only when it is convenient.

A person who is genuinely good does not need an audience to do the right thing. Their actions come from who they are, not from what they hope to receive.

Pay attention to how people treat those they don’t need.

Because the way someone treats the powerless often reveals more about their heart than the way they treat the powerful.
