Conflict doesn’t mean Collaborative Divorce isn’t an option.

In fact, many couples who choose the collaborative process are experiencing significant conflict. The goal isn’t to pretend everything is fine. It’s to create a structured environment where both people can communicate more effectively, understand what matters most, and work toward solutions that meet their family’s needs.

Collaborative Divorce is about finding a better way forward, even when things are difficult.

Separation is hard enough. Your mortgage shouldn’t make it harder.

If you're navigating divorce or separation, it's important to understand the options available early on (before finalizing your agreement - divorce/separation). A licensed mortgage agent (broker) can help you explore solutions like the Spousal Buyout Program, which may allow one partner to stay in the home by accessing up to 95% of its value.

This is more than just a financial decision, it’s about creating stability during a major life transition.

Reach out today to learn how we can provide support through the process, and help you move forward with confidence.

Many couples choose Collaborative Divorce because they want to avoid conflict. But even when both people are committed to a respectful separation, difficult decisions still need to be made about children, finances, and the future.
Collaborative professionals help guide these conversations by providing legal advice and support while helping families explore solutions that meet their unique needs.

The goal isn't to create disagreement but to help couples navigate the challenges of separation with respect, understanding, and a focus on reaching informed agreements that support everyone moving forward.

"When my husband of over 30 years suddenly left me with two adult children still at home, I panicked. The future that I thought we had been planning for would be very different than what I had envisioned. With Holly’s support and expertise, I can better understand my financial needs, resources and options. Thanks to Holly’s network of contacts, my lawyer and I are connected with an actuary who is helping us to determine the value of my husband’s pension, in order to ensure that we are working with accurate information. With her financial planning expertise, network of connections and her positive support, I feel less anxious about the future." - M. S.

It's stories like these that make my work so rewarding. Thank you, M.S., for sharing your story so others may feel less alone. If you have a testimony you would like to share, send me a DM or Email.

According to Statistics Canada, only a small percentage of divorce cases ever reach trial.

Most separating couples resolve their issues through negotiation, mediation, collaborative processes, or other forms of dispute resolution.

Collaborative Divorce helps families focus on solutions, not courtroom battles.
Whether you're navigating separation or you're a legal, financial, or mental health professional interested in supporting families through the Collaborative process, the Collaborative Divorce Alberta Association is here to help.
