The BC economic outlook is tough — and I’m seeing it firsthand.
I recently sat in on a meeting with the economist from BC REA, and let’s just say it was not an uplifting hour. The outlook was blunt — the vibes are bad, and people are mad. And honestly? Can you blame them? 1 in 5 people surveyed said they think it’s likely they’ll lose their job within the next 12 months.
This isn’t just statistics. This is real life for a lot of people right now.
This week alone, I’m working with three clients facing foreclosure, and earlier this year I had someone call me in a panic saying they needed to sell their house by end of month because they couldn’t make their next mortgage payment after losing their job.
I don’t want to be the bearer of bad news — but we need to be realistic.

The Beaver Lodge Forest Lands have a beautiful origin story — they were initially a gift to the Province of BC by the Elk River Timber Company, with a condition that the land be used for experimental work in reforestation and forest management. Today, they operate both as a forest project and a recreation destination.  In 1931, 1,028 acres (416 hectares) were donated, and since then additional parcels have been added, bringing the total area to approximately 520 hectares. 

The extensive trail network offers opportunities for mountain biking, horseback riding, walking, jogging, wildlife viewing, and nature appreciation — and there are even wheelchair accessible trails from the Trask Road and South McPhedran Road parking lots. Congratulations to these two… my daughter and son-in-law 🎉❤️
Congratulations on the sale, and even more importantly, congratulations on how far you’ve come. Now… the next chapter begins!
Five years ago, I watched them push through the stress of trying to get into the market. The uncertainty, the pressure, the “are we ever going to make this happen?” moments.
And then again these past few months… the other side of it. Getting the home ready. Cleaning for showings. Leaving the house not knowing what buyers will think. Waiting. Hoping.
