As of November 15, 2024, new regulations have taken effect for international students in Canada. 🎓✨ Eligible students can now work up to 24 hours per week off-campus while studying, providing more opportunities to gain valuable work experience.

Additionally, students must apply for a new study permit before changing institutions, ensuring better compliance and integrity within the program. Designated Learning Institutions (DLIs) will also face stricter reporting requirements to protect students from fraud and ensure a quality educational experience.

These changes aim to create a more sustainable and secure environment for international students, allowing you to focus on your studies and future in Canada. 🌟

If you have questions about how these changes may affect you or need assistance with your study permit application, don’t hesitate to reach out! I’m here to help you navigate your journey to Canada. 🤝

🇨🇦 Honoring Remembrance Day in Canada 🇨🇦

Today, on November 11th, we pause to honor the courage, dedication, and sacrifices made by countless Canadian soldiers, veterans, and all those who have served to protect our freedom.

Remembrance Day, observed across Canada, is a time to reflect on the bravery and resilience of those who fought in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping missions. At 11:00 a.m., Canadians observe two minutes of silence to remember those who gave their lives for our country.

Why We Wear the Poppy 🌺
The poppy has become a powerful symbol of remembrance, inspired by the poem "In Flanders Fields". Wearing the poppy shows our respect for fallen soldiers and our commitment to remembering their sacrifices.

Today, let’s unite in gratitude and pay our respects to those who serve and protect. We remember not only their bravery but also the resilience of families and communities affected by war.

Lest We Forget.

Some good news for international students today:

The Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship announced a temporary lift on off-campus work limits for international students in Canada.

Starting on November 15, 2022 until December 31st, 2023 international students who ate in Canada and have off-campus work authorization will be allowed to work more than 20 hours per week.

The measure will address labour shortages and give international students better access to gaining work experience in Canada.

We will also have more details on a pilot project to expedite and automate study permit extensions in Canada, so stay tuned as that should come later this month.

Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Today is a day to honour the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities.

We must acknowledge this tragic and painful part of our history and ongoing impacts of residential schools in order to move forward and repair the harm.

Whether you are in Canada or hoping to be here one day today and every day is a good day to educate ourselves on what happened in residential schools. There are many available resources to learn about the unique history, languages, cultural practices, and spiritual beliefs of Indigenous peoples in Canada.

We acknowledge that we are on Treaty 7 territory, the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Nations, including Siksika (Sick-sick-ah), Piikani (Pee-can-ee), and Kainai (Kigh-a-nigh), the Tsuut’ina (Soot- ina **a bit of a stop after the t), Nation and Stoney Nakoda First Nations. We acknowledge all the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit whose footsteps have marked these lands for centuries.

Happy Canada Day!

As a newcomer to Canada, I acknowledge the beautiful ancestral land I live on and its First Nations.
I recognize the wrongs in our history and commit to reconciliation. All of our history must be told so that we all learn the truth, so everyone is heard and so we can change. Stay beautiful, Canada! 🇨🇦🧡🦊

I have come to know so many exemplary women in my life and in my work as an immigration consultant. Immigrant mothers give up so much of their comfort and face the unknown for the well being of their children, for a brighter tomorrow... my own Mother did that for me. I am forever grateful for not only the life she gave me but for all the sacrifices she made along the way. It’s a mother thing, and once you become a mother it makes sense, (even when it doesn’t).

Here’s sending you much love if you’re not physically near your Mother today. Much love and strength if you’re not near your children today.
💐
Love knows no boundaries, you’re always near where you need to be. 💖

We stand with the people of Ukraine in these difficult times.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada has special measures in place to assist those affected by the ongoing conflict, including a dedicated communication channel and the prioritizing of immigration applications from Ukrainian nationals and family members.
We hope for peace to be restored and we are committed to assisting impacted individuals as they seek out a haven from this senseless war. 🇺🇦🕊
