Your condo board does NOT have unlimited access to your home.

Even if they have a key, that doesn’t mean they can simply walk into your unit whenever they want. There are rules around when and how that can happen.

Make sure you know the condo bylaws BEFORE you buy.

Would you be comfortable knowing your condo board had a key to your door?

It's me. Hi. 👋
I'm the problem it's me.

Which is fine because my tweaks are great. 😅

Can your landlord really evict you for putting up a privacy screen?

Not necessarily.

In B.C., a landlord needs a legally permitted reason to end a tenancy and must follow the proper eviction process.

The important part? Don’t assume an eviction notice automatically means you have to move.

Would you know what to do if your landlord gave you an eviction notice?

A 93-year-old woman gifted property to her family, then got hit with a $40,000 tax bill.

She didn’t sell it.
She didn’t get $40,000 in cash.
She gifted it.

So why was there a tax bill?

Because gifting real estate can still trigger a capital gains tax based on the property’s value.

Would you have expected a tax bill from a gift?

What if your entire neighbourhood opposed your development, but couldn’t actually stop it?

Sounds impossible.

But who really gets the final say? 👀

He grabbed a sawzall and decided to cut down his neighbour’s fence.

If you think your neighbour’s fence is on your property, or they’re trying to connect their fence to yours, don’t take matters into your own hands.

Figure out where the property line actually is.
Then put your objection in writing and deal with the issue through the proper channels.

The easiest fence dispute to solve is the one you have a conversation about before anyone reaches for a sawzall. 😅

What would you do if this happened to you? 👇

You can build a wall to block your neighbour, but you might have to tear it down. 😬

Fence and wall height can be regulated by local bylaws, and going over the limit could mean enforcement through fines or being ordered to bring it into compliance.

Before you build that fence, check your local rules and your property title.
