Tuesday Coffee Talk: The house you can afford and the house you qualify for are two very different things. A lender will tell you the maximum. The reality is you should purchase at price that allows you to still sleep well, still take vacations, and still live within your means. What should matter more to you than size of the house is the quality of life inside it. Let me know if you agree this makes sense ?

Coffee Tuesday. Some people will use the equity in their home like an ATM. I've observed people refinance and pull equity for vacations, cars, and renovations that added zero value, then wonder why they're underwater when the market shifts. Equity withdrawn should be invested to increase its value, purchase more real estate (like now) or to invest into an RRSP or TFSA. This is passive and patient investing. It rewards the people who leave it to blossom.
