Key Responsibilities

• Drafting and reviewing plaints, written statements, petitions, affidavits, legal notices, applications and agreements.
• Assisting in civil, criminal and commercial litigation matters.
• Conducting title searches, land document verification and property-related legal work.
• Assisting in legal opinions, due diligence and documentation.
• Attending courts, government offices, land offices and other relevant authorities when required.
• Coordinating with clients and maintaining proper case and documentation records.
• Performing other legal and professional responsibilities assigned by the firm.

Requirements

• LL.B. / LL.M. from a recognized university.
• Enrolment with the Bangladesh Bar Council will be an advantage.
• Practical experience in litigation, legal drafting, land/property matters or corporate documentation will be preferred.
• Fresh graduates are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Bangla.
• Proficiency in MS Office and general legal research/documentation tools.
• Strong sense of professional ethics, responsibility and confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

The “Seasoned” Hype!

Every now and then, a particular word suddenly becomes the buzzword of the corporate world.

And once it does, everyone starts scrambling to use it—

There was a time when “experienced” was perfectly good enough.

সংসদে নতুন আলোচনা: বিয়েতে নাচ-গান আর অতিরিক্ত অতিথি ডাকলেই আইনি অ্যাকশন?

অতিথি নিয়ন্ত্রণ আদেশ, ১৯৮৪ (The Guest Control Order, 1984) হলো বাংলাদেশে সামাজিক ও পারিবারিক অনুষ্ঠানে অতিরিক্ত অপচয় এবং অতিথির সংখ্যা নিয়ন্ত্রণ করার মূল ঐতিহাসিক আইনি দলিল। তৎকালীন সামরিক সরকারের আমলে দেশের খাদ্য পরিস্থিতি বিবেচনায় এবং নিত্যপ্রয়োজনীয় দ্রব্যের অপচয় রোধে এই আদেশটি জারি করা হয়েছিল।

আইনটির অতীত ইতিহাস এবং এর সুনির্দিষ্ট প্রধান ধারাগুলো নিচে তুলে ধরা হলো:📜
আইনের ঐতিহাসিক প্রেক্ষাপট -১৯৫৬ সালের 'দ্য কন্ট্রোল অব এসেনশিয়াল কমোডিটিজ অ্যাক্ট' (The Control of Essential Commodities Act, 1956)-এর ৩(১) ধারায় প্রদত্ত ক্ষমতাবলে ১৯৮৪ সালের ৩ জুলাই খাদ্য মন্ত্রণালয় এই বিশেষ আদেশটি জারি করে, যা ১ জুলাই ১৯৮৪ থেকে কার্যকর ধরা হয়। মূলত যুদ্ধ-পরবর্তী বা অর্থনৈতিক সংকটের সময় চাল, গম বা খাদ্যশস্যের অপচয় রুখতে এই ধরনের কঠোর পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া হতো।

🔍 অতীতের সুনির্দিষ্ট প্রধান ধারা ও নিয়মাবলি
১০০ জনের বেশি অতিথি নিষিদ্ধ (ধারা ৩):
কোনো ব্যক্তি বা হোস্ট (Host) বিয়ে, জন্মদিন, আকিকা বা কোনো সামাজিক, ধর্মীয় বা পারিবারিক অনুষ্ঠানে ১০০ জনের বেশি অতিথিকে (আয়োজক পরিবার বাদে) চাল বা গমের তৈরি কোনো খাবার পরিবেশন করতে পারবেন না।

বিশেষ অনুমতি ও কর বা রাজস্ব (ধারা ৪): যদি কোনো অনুষ্ঠানে ১০০ জনের বেশি অতিথিকে খাওয়াতেই হয়, তবে সংশ্লিষ্ট জেলা প্রশাসক (DC) বা উপজেলা নির্বাহী অফিসারের (UNO) কাছ থেকে 'ফরম এ' (Form A)-এর মাধ্যমে পূর্ব অনুমতি নিতে হতো। ১০০ জনের অতিরিক্ত প্রতি অতিথির জন্য সরকারি কোষাগারে ট্রেজারি চালানের মাধ্যমে ১০ টাকা হারে ফি (পরবর্তীতে সংশোধিত হয়ে ২৫ টাকা) জমা দিতে হতো।

তদারকি ও তল্লাশির ক্ষমতা (ধারা ২/৪):
খাদ্য অধিদপ্তরের পরিদর্শক (Inspector of Food), পুলিশের গেজেটেড কর্মকর্তা কিংবা জেলা প্রশাসক/ইউএনও কর্তৃক মনোনীত যেকোনো সরকারি কর্মকর্তা অপরাধ ঠেকাতে বা তদন্ত করতে অনুষ্ঠানস্থলে প্রবেশ ও তল্লাশি করার ক্ষমতা রাখতেন।

ধর্মীয় অনুষ্ঠানের ছাড় (২০০৩ সালের সংশোধন):
২০০৩ সালে এই আদেশে একটি সংশোধনী এনে মিলাদ মাহফিল, ইফতার, কুলখানি, চেহলাম, ওরস, শ্রাদ্ধ ইত্যাদির মতো বিশুদ্ধ ধর্মীয় অনুষ্ঠানগুলোকে এই অতিথির বাধ্যবাধকতা বা ফি-এর আওতামুক্ত করা হয়।

⚠️ আইন অমান্যের শাস্তি
১৯৫৬ সালের মূল আইনের আওতায় এই আদেশ অমান্য করা একটি শাস্তিযোগ্য অপরাধ হিসেবে গণ্য হতো। নিয়ম ভাঙলে আয়োজক ও অনুষ্ঠানস্থলের (যেমন: কমিউনিটি সেন্টার) মালিকের জরিমানা এবং ক্ষেত্রবিশেষে কারাদণ্ডের বিধান ছিল।বর্তমানে এই আইনটি বাতিল না হলেও যথাযথ প্রয়োগের অভাবে এটি প্রায় নিষ্ক্রিয় অবস্থায় রয়েছে। ফলে দেশের বেশিরভাগ রেস্তোরাঁ বা কনভেনশন সেন্টারে অনুমতি নেওয়া বা ফি দেওয়ার এই নিয়মটি এখন আর পালিত হয় না।
