A Muslim's response and spiritual activism during trials, oppression and injustice :)
Around the world innocent Muslims are being discriminated, persecuted, detained and tortured. We are in dire need of protection, help and peace. And who better to provide this than Allah As - Salaam The Bestower of Peace.
For those souls who cannot take in constant news without being overwhelmed, extremely anxious and nervous about what the future holds I thought I would compile few action points and reminders that everyone can benefit from.
1. Recite these 5 beautiful duas consistently:
🤲 DUA 1 - ❝O Allah, I seek refuge with You from worry, grief, incapacity, laziness, miserliness, cowardice, difficult debt and being overpowered by men.❞
[An Nasai | https://sunnah.com/nasai/50/26]
🤲 DUA 2 - ❝O Allah! I seek refuge with You from the affliction of the Fire, the punishment of the Fire, the affliction of the grave, the punishment of the grave, and the evil of the affliction of poverty. O Allah! I seek refuge with You from the evil of the affliction of Al-Masih Ad- Dajjal, O Allah! Cleanse my heart with the water of snow and hail, and cleanse my heart from all sins as a white garment is cleansed from filth, and let there be a far away distance between me and my sins as You made the East and West far away from each other. O Allah! I seek refuge with You from laziness, sins, and from being in debt.❞
[Sahih Bukhari | https://sunnah.com/bukhari/80/74]
🤲 DUA 3 - ❝Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyum, bi-Rahmatika astagheeth
‘O Living, O Sustaining, in Your Mercy I seek relief!❞
[Tirmidhi, Sunan (3600)]
🤲 DUA 4 - Uthman bin 'Affan رضي الله عنه reported:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "He who recites this 3 times every morning and evening nothing will harm him."
'Bismillahil-ladhi la yadurru ma'as-mihi shai'un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama'i, wa Huwas-Sami'ul-'Alim
(In the Name of Allah with Whose Name there is protection against every kind of harm in the earth or in the heaven, and He is the All-Hearing and All- Knowing),'
[Abu Dawud & At- Tirmidhi | https://sunnah.com/riyadussaliheen/16/50]
🤲 DUA 5 - Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه said: A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: O Messenger of Allah, I was stung by a scorpion last night. He said: “If you had said, when evening came, it would not have harmed you.”
‘A’oodhu bi kalimaat Allaah al-taammah min sharri ma khalaq
I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of that which He has created’,
[Narrated by Muslim (2709)]
2. Read Quran and you will know this is a pattern and every tyrant has his day. Allah gives reprieve to these dictators before He jalla wa 'ala humiliates them in this world and the hereafter.
📚 Abu Musa reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, said, “Verily, Allah Almighty will give respite to the wrongdoer until he seizes him and he cannot escape.” Then the Prophet recited the verse, “Such is the seizure of your Lord, when he takes hold of the cities while they are doing wrong. Verily, his seizure is agonizing and severe.”
{Surah Hūd 11: Verse 102}
[Sahih Bukhari]
They will spread falsehood against us Muslims.
They will spread rumours and rile people up.
They will black market our organs.
They will hurt our women and children.
They will put us in detention camps.
But in the end, the truth is always made apparent.
And alhumdulillah along with the injustices we we are also witnessing some of the most significant protests for justice. And this personally makes me hopeful of what our future holds.
3. Take your activism to musalla, social media posts don't cut it. Whenever your hearts feels scared, overwhelmed or in distress make wudu as properly as you can and offer two rakat salaah and make dua to Allah.
4. Always remember ❝La hawla wala quwatta illa billa - There is no might or power except Allah's❞. Recite this few times a day to put your heart and mind at rest. Remember and memorize these 4 beautiful names of Allah and keep reflecting upon them.
► Allah As Samee - The All Hearing.
► Allah Al Baseer - The All Seeing.
► Allah Al Qareeb - The One who is near to everything and everyone.
► Allah Al Adl - The Most Just.
I love this beautiful hadith from our blessed tradition.
