Uppsala University takes pride in its students and is proud to introduce Ruhiyya Isayeva.
Ruhiyya Isayeva is a practising advokat from Baku, Azerbaijan being admitted to the Azerbaijani Bar Association since 2005. She worked for more than 10 years in the international law firm Dentons representing leading international companies in the litigation and dispute resolution proceedings in Azerbaijan. In parallel, she also pursued an academic career as an Adjunct Lecturer teaching European law in the double-degree Master's program of Baku State University and The Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg. Being engaged as a legal expert/consultant by the Council of Europe, European Union, United Nations, The World Bank, IFC - International Finance Corporation, OSCE and other organisations Ruhiyya has contributed to the legal and judicial reforms in Azerbaijan. Being engaged as a trainer by the COE, Swedish International Centre for Local Democracy (ICLD), ELSA Azerbaijan and other organisations she trained more than 500 lawyers, law students and others on various legal topics including Dispute Resolution, Business and Human rights, and ECHR. Ruhiyya also been an Advisor and Chairperson of the Board of the SI Network for Global Professionals - Lund / SI NFGP LUND.
Ruhiyya did her Bachelor program at Khazar University and studied previously Master's programs at Azerbaijan University, as well as Lund University being awarded a highly competitive Visby scholarship of the Swedish Institute.
