Kingsley Lawson Lawyers was proud to sponsor the Brisbane Bulldogs in their campaign to achieve back-to-back premierships in the 2026 State Championships.

The Brisbane Bulldogs fought hard in the final but injuries took their toll and ultimately the Bulldogs lost 6-4 to the Wide Bay Whales. The Bulldogs should be extremely proud of their result. Well done to all the players and team staff on their efforts!

Kingsley Lawson looks forward to our continued partnership with the Bulldogs in 2027.

Kingsley Lawson was proud to be a major sponsor of the Milton State School - annual Fair on the Green over the weekend. Despite a late afternoon storm the event was well attended. We would like to acknowledge and thank all the teachers, parents and sponsors who donated time and money to make the event the resounding success that it was. Until next year!

Is an injured roof plumber automatically fit to join the sales, delivery or customer service team?

In 2012, Mr Jones made a TPD claim under a group life policy issued by Hannover Life. Although it was accepted that he could never return to his pre-injury tradesman work, his claim was declined as the insurer considered the claimant could work in roles which did not require retraining.

Pain in the NT? More like gain in QLD!

Despite being injured while being assigned to a job in the Northern Territory, Ms Covill was still entitled to make a common law claim for damages against WorkCover Queensland! This was because at the time her contract was entered into, it occurred in Brisbane.

While many can be deterred from bringing a common law damages claim due to their injury occurring outside of Queensland, the recent decision of Covill v WorkCover Queensland [2022] QSC 171, highlights the importance of understanding where your employee contract is located.
