Today marks an incredibly exciting milestone for our very own Jess Richardson and Mia Billing, who are being admitted as solicitors at the Supreme Court of Queensland in Brisbane! 🎉

After years of hard work, dedication and determination, today is a celebration of everything they have achieved and the exciting legal careers that lie ahead.

Making the occasion even more special, Jess and Mia were surrounded by their proud families, with of course Peta and Kelsey being there to support them and celebrate this wonderful achievement as well. ❤️

We are incredibly proud of both Jess and Mia and feel very fortunate to have them as part of the Donaldson Law team.

Congratulations, ladies! We can't wait to see all that you achieve in this next chapter of your careers!

Last night, members of the Donaldson Law team attended the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce Business at Dusk, hosted by the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation at the fascinating Museum of Health.

The team had the opportunity to tour the museum and explore some of the incredible collection of more than 20,000 health and medical artefacts that are rotated through its displays.

A highlight of the evening was chatting with a pharmacist who shared some fascinating insights into medicines, treatments and pharmacy practices from years gone by — a great reminder of just how much healthcare has evolved!

The evening was also particularly special with our Director, Peta, serving as Deputy Chair of the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation Board. Following the Museum of Health’s official opening on Monday, it was wonderful to see the space come to life and to share it with members of the local business community.

Thank you to the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce and Toowoomba Hospital Foundation for hosting such an interesting evening and giving us the chance to discover a little more of Toowoomba’s medical history while connecting with our local business community.

Donaldson Law is looking for an experienced Client Concierge to join our team in Toowoomba and this is definitely not your traditional Legal Assistant or Paralegal role.

We’ve created this position around a simple idea: great legal service is about more than the legal work. It’s also about making sure clients feel informed, supported and looked after throughout the entire process.

As a Client Concierge, you’ll become a familiar and trusted point of contact for our clients throughout their journey with Donaldson Law – from their very first enquiry, through appointments, assessments and the progression of their matter, right through to attending mediation alongside them.

We’re looking for someone with experience in historic abuse or personal injury law who is warm, empathetic, highly organised and genuinely good with people. Someone who wants to know their clients, know their matters and take ownership of making things happen.

If you love working directly with clients and want a role where the relationships you build are considered just as important as the processes you manage, we’d love to hear from you.

At Donaldson Law, we work with people who are often navigating incredibly difficult and deeply personal experiences. It’s a reminder to us of just how important it is to approach one another with kindness, empathy and genuine care.

You don’t need to be an expert to check in with someone.

Ask “R U OK?”
Listen.
Give them time to talk.
And keep checking in.

Whether it’s a colleague, friend, family member or someone you haven’t heard from in a while, take a moment today to start a conversation.

Because sometimes the most important thing we can do is simply let someone know we’re there. 💛

Today, we spent lunch as a team, checking in and enjoying eachothers company.

Victim-survivors should never be reduced to a line on a balance sheet or regarded as simply another class of creditor. Behind every claim is a person who has lived with the consequences of abuse, often for decades.

We stand with victim-survivors and support their right to be heard, treated with dignity and respect, and to pursue meaningful accountability and fair compensation.

We acknowledge the courage of those who have shared their experiences and all those continuing to seek justice.🩵

✨ An afternoon celebrating women in law✨

Members of the Donaldson Law and wider Better Lawyers Group team recently enjoyed a fantastic afternoon at the Downs and South Western Queensland Law Association - Dswqla Ladies in Law Luncheon at Clifford Park Racecourse.

The luncheon brought together women from across the Darling Downs legal community for an afternoon of connection, conversation and some valuable insights from guest speaker Helen Baker.

Helen spoke about the importance of women building confidence and independence when it comes to their finances — a message that certainly gave us plenty to think and talk about!

We were also very lucky to each take home a copy of Helen’s book, On Your Own Two Feet – The Essential Guide to Financial Independence for All Women. 📖✨

Thank you to DSWQLA for another wonderful event and for continuing to create opportunities for women in our profession to come together, learn from one another and build meaningful connections.

The boxes are unpacked, the signage is up, the coffee machine is working overtime and we’re officially settled into our new office at the T & L Buildng, Level 1, 152 - 156 Margaret Street, Toowoomba.

Our Donaldson Law team is proud to call this beautiful new space home alongside our colleagues from Enterprise Legal, all under the Better Lawyers Group roof.

A huge amount of work has gone into creating a space that feels welcoming, comfortable and most importantly, somewhere our clients can feel at ease when they walk through the doors.
