Should We Support Movember?
Movember was once a movement that gave men a voice. It gave us a chance to talk openly about real issues facing men. It was about mates supporting mates. But something has changed.
What began as a powerful, grassroots campaign for men’s wellbeing has turned into a massive corporate machine, now run by a management team that’s about 70% female — led and shaped by people who seem more interested in ideology than in men’s actual suffering.
Instead of tackling the real issues men face like rising su***de rates because of family breakdown and parental alienation, loneliness, and the lack of male-friendly mental health services — Movember is pouring millions of dollars into “woke” projects that often sideline or even shame men. The focus has shifted from compassion to politics, and from action to image, with the women in the organization often boasting about it.
This year, before you grow the moustache or donate, take a moment to look deeper. Find out where the money really goes. There are still charities out there doing genuine, life-saving work for men, quietly, humbly, without the spin. They need your help far more than a corporate campaign that’s lost its way.
