TEXT IN A POLICE REPORT

Now this is an interesting 🧐 idea now in place across Melbourne.

The scheme encourages people to text in a crime they think is being committed on public transport. And it has been working, resulting in thousands of reports made and people charged with criminal offences.

Often this includes sexual offences, or a person exposing themselves or even brushing against another on public transport.

We have defended some of these cases and all is not always what it seems, and our defence of people has resulted in the charges being thrown out, found not to be supported by CCTV and no crime committed.
