We're looking for the person who helps makes everything run.

You know the one. The first face clients see when they walk in nervous, and the reason they leave feeling looked after. The one who keeps the diary tight, the files in order, and the whole office calm when things get busy.

We're hiring an Administrative Assistant/Receptionist for our family law firm in Ardross.

Family law is emotional work. People come to us during some of the hardest seasons of their lives, so the warmth at our front desk matters as much as the legal work behind it. We want someone organised and capable, yes, but also genuinely kind. Someone who notices when a client needs a glass of water and a minute to breathe.

What you'd be doing: welcoming clients, managing calls and the appointment diary, keeping files and correspondence in order, helping with billing and the general day-to-day that keeps a firm moving.

What we're hoping you bring: legal admin or reception experience, strong communication, real attention to detail, and a calm, caring way with people.

We're a small, tight knit team that works hard and looks after each other. If that sounds like your kind of place, we'd love to meet you.

Said by half the people who walk through our door for property settlement.

Separation and divorce are not the same thing. They're two different events, and sometimes people use the words interchangeably until the day it matters.

The short version:

Separation happens the day one of you decides it's over and lets the other person know. There's no form, but you do have to actually tell them.

Divorce is the legal end of the marriage, and you can't apply until you've been separated for at least 12 months.

The bit nobody mentions: once your divorce is finalised, you have 12 months to either resolve your property settlement or commence proceedings in the family court. After that the door starts to close.

Remember this one. It tends to come in handy :)

We love our mums. 💗
