Meet Vee, our Associate Director.

Travel, good food and good company are her three favourite things. She's happiest exploring somewhere new or spending a long weekend with family and friends, ideally with the next holiday already in the works. Fair warning, she can turn a three-day trip into a military-grade itinerary.

At work, she loves that family law is never boring. No two days, clients or cases are the same, and she enjoys helping people find a way forward when life gets a little complicated.

Negotiating Christmas from scratch every year? There's an easier way.

If you're separated, the hardest Christmases are usually the ones that get worked out in December, when everyone is tired and emotions are already high.

Instead, decide once. Alternate years, split the day, or swap Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Agree on handovers and travel too. Then put it in writing, in a parenting plan or consent orders, so it's settled before the season starts.

Less back and forth for you, more certainty for the kids.

This week, our director Christina walked into a mediation and handed a little gift to every lawyer in the room.

Just a face mask, a souvenir from her recent trip to Korea.. she wanted them to go home and take a moment for themselves.

Because family law is heavy. For the families living through it, and for everyone working alongside them. It's the kind of work that's easy to carry home with you.

And that day? Everyone reached an agreement. No drawn-out battle, no small fortune lost fighting it out in court. Just people who get to move on with their lives. That's always what we're hoping for.

So consider this your reminder to rest this weekend. Run the bath, do the mask, do the whole lot of nothing. You do better by everyone when you've looked after yourself first.

We're hiring at our firm in Ardross for two roles, and we'd love to find the right people.

We're looking for a Family Lawyer with around 3–5 years Post-Admission Experience - someone who's built good foundations and wants to take on more of their own matters, with experienced lawyers alongside them for the tricky stuff. If you've got a bit less experience but you're ready for the step up, pls still get in touch. There's real mentoring here, hybrid flexibility, and genuine room to grow.

We're also looking for an Admin Assistant / Receptionist to run our front desk including the diary, files, calls, and lots of things that keep the place ticking. You'd be the first person our clients meet, so we're after someone organised who's also lovely with people.

I watched hubby walk ahead with our girls and it made me smile, I thought about how much he's grown as a dad... And felt so proud 🫶

How much he's learnt and of course he still gets it wrong sometimes, I mean he is only human ;)

As a parent you're always learning about your kids as they change, experiencing things for the first time and growing up right alongside them.

Maybe it's the family lawyer in me, but it reminds me why showing up, again and again, is the whole job of being a parent.

Happy Father's Day to the dads and father figures doing exactly that! 🤍
